Does anyone know what happened to everyone on the citadel after the reapers moved it to earth, I remember one of the writers saying that most people made it off, I believe it was Mac Walters but was there anymore insight on what happened to specific people, bailey, al jilani, the council, Kelly  Chambers, Conrad Verner etc

Depends on who you ask.

Either "Bad times" or "Everyone important survived"

Isn't that another way of saying "no one has a clue".:P

Someone asked Mac Walters what happened to the Citadel people and he said "some escaped, bad times for the majority." Someone later asked Patrick Weekes and he said everyone with a name on the Citadel at the very least survived. I'll let you decide which is likely to be BioWare's official stance post-fan hysteria.

We won't know what happened until they start releasing information about ME4, and decide how far into the future they're going... if they're going into the future.

I would have enjoyed it if the Prioriry: Earth mission got extended into some reaper-occupied Citadel stuff at the end so such a huge question would not be lingering.

they suddenly learned much to their dismay that gravity suddenly turned to inertia, and that resulted in them accelerating away from the citadel at a fair rate.

I headcanon that a few people survived, but the vast majority died either when the Reapers attacked or when the station blew up. Oddly enough, Shepard's Apartment survives (in headcanon), along with most of the Silversun Strip.

According to Weekes every named character was able to escape.

Given how fast the Citadel was hurled over to Earth and how many Reapers surrounded it (or however the Citadel got moved) I don't think there was enough to evacuate anyone.

Apparently there were shelters. And in Control the place doesn't blow up.

Either difficult times or nothing happend like in Control .
Personaly, I don't think they even considered the people on the Citadel.
Telling us there were shelters in a twitter feed sure seems like an afterthought.

^ This.

Going with the lore there shouldn't be any people left to ask.
According to the codex, gravity on the Citadel (apparently except the Presidium) is provided through rotation.
Opening the Citadel like a flower should fling everyone off the wards.

The answer given at the meeting with fans before the EC was released was that the majority of people survived because they were protected by force fields or some such. Clearly some people did get off before it was shifted because Jack was on the Citadel and yet ended up on earth and I'm pretty sure taking her students into the front line on earth wasn't the intention when I spoke to her back on the Citadel.

I have to agree that it was rather disappointing that it wasn't revealed in game what happened to the people on the Citadel. Some of them had been familiar faces for 3 games, others for two, and some like Bailey and Kolyat, I'd really grown to like. A summary slide would have sufficed but instead you have to find out from Forums, etc, which doesn't really do justice to game immersion. Since the question was asked of the team before the EC came out, you'd think they'd have given it a mention when it did.

They don't even know.

I mean, this is the same team with a lead writer who said the galaxy is a wasteland. One minute it is, one minute it's not, the next minute we're all singing Kumbaya with green glowy circuits in our skin.

Aria definitely didn't bite the dust. This is someone who broke through Petrovsky's fields with her hands. And survived whatever space station explosion she was in when she fought Wrex (assuming she is the same Asari in his story). She seems to have a knack for survival as much as Shepard.

That's the comic story. I'm talking afterwards in the DLC, when she broke those red barriers open so you could get through. There's a cool line she has when Nyreen asks her "How did you know you could do that?" Aria: "I didn't."

I think the way they write her, she's got a bigger chance than anyone on the Citadel.

Really? If it wasn't for her, I'd probably hate the Asari.

Maybe both. I don't see any necessary contradiction between those responses.

Oh I do, but she doesn't exactly carry the Asari to me.
