I have completed the Broken Circle and I am thinking of recruiting all playable characters asap, so I want to do Orzammar next. Currently I'm lvl 9 DW Rogue, will it be a tough fight for me?

I always play Orzammar at the end because there you get more loot than in other regions. And the higher the level of the items is the more money you get when selling it.

Well the deep roads will be quite the challenge i would assume, but if you have wynee then you should be in the goods. Make sure to get the key to the city/ Rose's Thorn/ and Dead Thaig Shanker or Thorn of the Death Gods(Key to the city is a ring item, and the others are daggers).

Although the Rose's thorn is like 145 Golds. Also if you have Sten in your party get the Ageless Sword.

It's certainly possible, and you'll get a lot of XP since it's the higest level zone and some the enemies won't scale down to your level. Just save often.

I go back and forth on what I like to do. I've only played through a couple of times, and I've done different each.

I almost always do Redcliffe and therefore the Broken Circle early because I want to make certain party members who shall remain unnamed happy. The first time I played through I went to help the Elves after that, this play through I played through Orzammar first. I think I like it this way better. I've got my full party going into the forest and I'll get to know Ogrhen a little better.

Schwinni makes a really good point about the money too, but I never have money problems by the end of the game.

I went to Orzammar first with my Warrior around level 8. I did all the quests up to heading into the Deep Roads and got Oghren and then left and did other stuff instead of heading into the Deep Roads. Aside from the Frostback Mountain battle the only really tough required fights (before the Deep Roads) are the final Proving fight (if you go that route) and the Jarvia battle. The only frustrating thing was not having enough Rogue skills to disarm all the traps in the Carta hideout.

I've done the Mage Quest now, and plan to do some side quests before heading back into the Deep Roads to head out to the Anvil of the Void. The only drawback is that Oghren won't really talk to you until you finish with the Anvil Quest. He'll still interject in cutscenes though.

I like Orzammar after the Circle and DLC - this gives you all companions as early as possible, allowing you to build them up and so on. Once you get Oghren, you don't have to complete the Deep Roads yet if you don't want to. You can go off with him and do the Forest or Redcliffe or whatever. Then finish the Deep Roads later. You don't have to finish what you started straight away (in most, but not all, cases).

I like to do the begining sections of Orzommar to build up levels.  Actually my current game I did lots of things there before even getting Wynne.

I hit Orzommar (just to first Deep Raods Section), Circle Magi, then Redcliffe (which was surprisingly a breeze).

*POTENTIAL SPOILER*

Just make sure you have Shale with you when you go. That way, you'll be able to get all of Shale's quest stuff in order.

Even though "The Fade" is one of the most annoying areas in the game for me personally, I always do "Broken Circle" first just because of the permanent stat bonuses you can gain while in the Fade. There's got to be at least sixteen or so objects which increase your stats by +1 each. Defintely worth the annoyance if you hate The Fade like I do and it will make further exploration/combat much, much easier.

Its best if you wanna build up Ohgren. The game levels him up terribly. BUT Orzammar is boatloads harder than the rest of the game IMO.

SPOILERS

The Broodmother and Corrupted Spider Queen fights are really really hard. And the golem fight at the end can be kinda tough as well. Thats not even mentioning that Orzammar includes the hardest darkspawn fights in the game too.

There are 21 stat bonuses in the fade, actually.

The enemies at Orzammar don't scale below 10. So that would be about the level I'd go there. I did it with a level 7 at some point, and it was a pain in the ass.

I do it once my rougue has 4th tier Mechanic skills. I hate going back to all the places in the Deep Roads just to pick locks on the Chests.

After Ostagar:

1. Lothering

2. Maybe a short detour to Frostback Mountains to buy Knight Commander Armour

3. Circle Tower (Fade bonuses - +21 btw. and Wynne FTW! - plus I really love the Fade section)

4. DLC

5. Redcliffe

6. Urn

7. Whatever I feel like

That way I get access to most of the good stuff as early in the game, as possible.

Your first treaty should always be the Circle for the stats. Then do DLC to get Shale. Then Redcliffe to open up the Urn. Next do the Urn to open up the possibility to get dragon armor. Then Orzammar to get Ohgren. Then Brecilian Forest.

I suppse one could argue that its useful to do Orzammar prior to Redcliffe/Urn for Ohgren, but I think it is worth having the uber dragon armor early instead of having Ohgren, who is not really different from Sten.

As much as I love Oghren as a character, I hate him as a party member during combat situations. If I could, I would kick him out of my party for the Anvil confrontation with Branka/Carridan.

Personally, I usually do the major quests in the order I think makes most sense for the RP/Story aspect of the game. I always go to the Circle Tower first, because in Lothering we find out that the Circle is in trouble when we talk to Ser Bryant -- that seems more immediate than a sick arl. After the Circle Tower, I go wherever seems most relevant to my PC -- I'll go to Orzammar if I'm a dwarf, the Brecillian Forest if I'm a Dalish elf or an elven mage, or Redcliffe if I'm human.

As for where you "should" go from a combat/gameplay/strategy standpoint, Orzammar is the longest, most tedious of the major quests, and is technically speaking the hardest. It's my least favorite, personally, as far as the major quests are concerned -- for reasons that are irrelevent to you -- but I don't think you'll have too many difficulty issues with Orzammar if you're patient enough to work your way through it. Being at a lower level when you go there will actually net you higher XP when felling enemies, so you might find that you've leveled up a couple of times (maybe even several times if you do EVERYTHING there is to do in Orzammar) before you leave.

You don't have to do Redcliffe to open up the Urn.  All you have to do is go to Brother Genetivi's house in Denerim.  You can do the Urn first if you like.

I get Ageless early and then and the adventurers note and then leave because it's a high level area and because the whole more loot, more valuable later thing.

I'm trying to get Oghren (and Zevran) as early as possible in my latest playthrough and found myself in this dilemma as well =/

I'm thinking I might do this after Lothering:

1.Circle tower

2.Pick up Zevran and Shale

3.Orzammar.

This way I won't be more than 10-12th level and I'll have Yusaris from the mage tower for Oghren when I get him. (not to mention the stat boost for my PC.) Might skip Shale though, I don't really plan to have her in my party, mostly just want a couple of the items from that DLC.

Any input or thoughts? :D
