I have another quick question.
Is there any possible way to have your rogue companion (such as Tomi or Dorna) actively use magic items e.g.  scrolls?

they should be able to use them normally, you just asking or you found your henchmans not using it?

Actually I remember when playing the whole OC that Tomi (partner of my Elven Monk) never used a scroll or magic item, except for potions (which he used quite frequently).
Now it seems to me Dorna is acting similarly while playing SoU.
Did your henchmen use scrolls?

What difficulty setting are you using?
If hardcore, then maybe the AI deems the second UMD check too unlikely to succeed. IIRC DC=25+spell level.

No, I'm using normal difficulty level.
Anyway, at some point I assumed that they were not using them and I stopped giving them scrolls.
Maybe I should try again. But how do they decide if/when to cast spells from scrolls?
Do they use items in a sensible way?

Assuming you have Tony K AI installed that's how I got scrolls work by henchmen: I put the offensive scrolls in the box 2nd row - 2nd column, seems odd but that's how I succeeded. In example I put there flame arrow, or magic missile. Any other box will work for scrolls including restore (from lesser to great) or scrolls used for conjuring creatures. The main concern I have is to recharge their inventory with scrolls one by one once they get used. A normal difficulty level could be an issue since your henchmen may find enemies too weak to waste their scrolls on them (more likely they would fire them over tough bosses only) unless you ask them to change the way they use them. This is the way I did it under the OC. Never tried under SoU.

My best combo is to put a wand in the 2 first boxes (1st column) and then a scroll as stated before in order to have continuous firepower (the weaker Boddyknock is the one which better relies on them). Look below for the "boxes" where W stands for wand and S for offensive scroll. Any other box will work for other scrolls.

Wow... I will have to try that!
How did you find out??
Actually I have a vague memory of Tomi using a scroll once, perhaps I accidentally put it in the right place. Very interesting, thanks.
