### Emissary bridge in the Korcari Wilds ###
In the beginning I always dreaded the 'assault on the emissary bridge' bit of the Korcari Wilds mission, because it invariably got messy. Then I found the Stealth + Pinning Shot + Dirty Fighting solution which not only locks down the emissary but also avoids getting stuck trying to get onto the bridge. Combined with approaching the bridge unseen by sticking to the right-hand bank this makes the whole thing a walk in the park.
One thing to keep in mind is that the emissary tends to run away the first time you get close and personal but seems more apt to stay put the second time around; you pretty much have to get close and personal, though, unless you like to eat fireballs.
### Wolf Hill in the Korcari Wilds ###
On the hill where you find a the body of one of the Jogbys and a locked chest, there are four wolves facing two darkspawn. They will attack each other as soon as you get close, so things are apt to get a bit messy. However, on the south-western approach to the hill there is an elfroot that is guarded by two cloaked darkspawn, right next to one of the trail signs. From there you can use a curved piece of wood to grab the attention of the darkspawn without inducing a lupicidal frenzy.
### Picking up Leliana in Lothering ###
Another thing that I wasn't exactly looking forward to is picking up Leliana in Dane's Refuge, because of the kill-stealing problem. Now it's easy as pie.
There are two key elements to the solution; one, that Leliana will always attack the target of the controlled character; two, after the surrender cutscene she is likely to attack the target that she was focussed on before the cutscene. With these two bits of information you can reliably get the outcome you desire: all the kills or none of them, and you can even get Leliana to tank the three melees for you (though she may have to backstab the leader quite a few times before she gets his attention).
I usually have Barkspawn open with a Howl, and then he just sits back on his haunches and directs operations (apart from an opportune Growl here and there). It is easy to forget switching back to Barkspawn before unpausing after a round of attack orders, though, and so is refocussing Leliana's attention on a reasonably healthy enemy before the leader surrenders. This can make it a bit tricky the first couple of times.
### Attack at Nightfall ###
No magic recipe here, I'm afraid, except for doing Redcliffe last, after all others (including Haven). At that point your team is fully trained, has the best equipment and a lot of combat experience (not to mention toys like SotC, Cleansing Aura, Topsider's Honour fully loaded with Cold Iron runes, or even a fully upgraded HK47 if you're so inclined). That allows you to play it by the ear and still save everyone and bag all - or almost all - of the kills. It's a bit like a dress rehearsal for the endgame.
