Anyone know how to add mods without using Winzip or WinRar? I had those, but apparently they expired.... so I can't unzip files anyore.

I looked at mods on nexus, but I'm not sure.....

I'm just really confused

Best place I've found to get mods for KOTOR. Been a while since I've installed them, but most mods on there should help tell you how to install them. You may need some similar application like Winzip or Winrar, and if you can't use those, there's also 7zip which I believe should work. Haven't tested it myself though.

Ah that's the site I used before. I loved Brotherhood of Shadow!

I'm looking into the 7-zip thing

7zip is a good freeware archive (un-)packer. I use it myself and never had any problems with it.

I got it downloaded onto my laptop.

How do I get the mod files into the game? Do I unzip them in the override folder? I just want basic mods like the new hilts and clothing. Tried unzipping the folder into the override, and I don't see any change.

Are there no installation instruction either with the mod file DL or on the file site?

Yup. I tried getting a new lightsaber pack. Said to extract files from ForOverrider folder to Overide and I did that, started an old file but didn't see the new stuff

Start a new game. Often times mods or even some dlc won't appear on old saves.

Nope. I still have Brotherhood, Taris skip, the custom hilts and outfits on the last save I played, but when I start a new game, the items aren't there.

I began a new game. I can skip taris, I see the BOS screen when I start the game, but I don't have the custom robes or saber crystals, and now I don't have RaR or Winzip anymore, and I'm not sure how that other program works

EDIT

Sometimes it says to install the mod into the main folder NOT the override folder. Where is that?

EDIT

Hurrah for the KSE. I found the robes, and got a few unique crystals like silver and white, and heart of the force

Use 7 Zip. It's free and lets you zip and unzip RARs and such.

Edit: ninjas.

I'll keep that in mind. :)

What should I do about bugs? I was able to play through the awesome brotherhood mod, but every so often the thing would crash. I don't get it.
