For the story, characters and relationships. So 1.
But I don't do much planning outside setting my party up at the start and letting them get on with it. I don't switch between them and I don't do the pause and set up for 3 mins then play for 2 seconds, rinse and repeat. Throws me out of immersion and is no fun at all.
But I am very visual so I love good graphics, DAI looks to be beautiful so I am looking forward to that.
DAI: What will you play for?

This. I love the Elder Scrolls games, but Tamriel is a lonely place.

I play for the story, but bad gameplay can still really hurt the game. And good gameplay help push it to greatness.
...And this. To me DA2's biggest weaknes was the divide between game mechanics and story.

I will play for Everything! I don't like to rush through games. So I will take my time!

Well am real happy with the mechanics of DA2, the combat and level system was nice, simple, and clean. If they keep that the same then I'll be happy. Also am certain they aren't going to do repeat levels. But I'll stay for the story and the characters, they are what makes Dragon Age memorable.

Story and characters primarily, but that doesn't mean I don't expect decent gameplay either. I can live with average graphics if the story and gameplay are good.

I play for the story, which is why I play my games on Casual.

The fact that it's a story-driven RPG narrative, there isn't enough of them and I take what I can get.

I will most likely play for about 10 hours straight on the first day.
Definitely for the story, but the combat is always fun too, so I guess I play for the whole package.

I'm a mix of both camps with a leaning on the first. I mainly play BioWare games because of the story and it's one of the few franchises that allow not only for games that let you create your own character, but really have your character as part of the world they write as opposed to just being an avatar/outsider where everyone has to explain everything and assumes you know nothing.
Being I loved Origins and DA2 (and Mass Effect, KOTOR, Jade Empire) I can't wait to see what's going to be the conflict in Inquisition. I generally want to know what comes of Morrigan, Flemeth, Leliana, Varric, Cassandra and all of them. A lot of them were mysterious characters with their own agendas (Flemeth and Morrigan especially).
I'll admit gameplay hasn't been BioWare's strong suit (Origins' slow combat, Jade Empire's psuedo-action game button mashing, Mass Effect 2 in its entirety...), with games such as Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur more hands on, so I'm going to have to take my tent to the first camp you described. Though I'm pretty sure since DA2 improved on a lot of the gameplay (for me at least), Inquisition will be right up there.

First camp. While gameplay, social/combat strategy and managing inventory systems appeal to the OCD side of me, it’s the immersive story and well written characters that make Bioware RPGs so darn addictive.
And yeah, I’m one of those players who just can’t stand to miss out on a single side-quest or scenario, so I’m looking forward to multiple playthroughs.

Bioware games are the masters of Story telling games. Their character development and storylines are the primary draw for their games. That said, gameplay is almost equally important to me. I don't watch many movies no matter how great the stories and characters might be.
I think of it as a risk/reward system. The storyline is the "treat" you get for successful navigating the combat encounters. I like my gameplay hard too. If the combat is cheap, or too easy, then it actually takes away from the storyline, IMO.
If you breeze through the combat and it takes next to nothing in the way of strategy to win every battle, then it makes those story scenes where the characters are attempting to show frustration, or mental stress completely unbelieveable.

Both.
I love the characters and the story, but I also love the combat. It is, in fact, possible to enjoy the romances and also killing the Harvester and Malvernis on Nightmare.

For a challenging taste of combat that's a bit out of my comfort zone, a large explorable world, and some aspect of peer pressure since I spend way too much time in this place anyhow. Can't say I'm as eager as previous titles, but I'm inclined to give it a shot based on previews.
Characters & Storylines, well, we'll see. I can't say I was a fan of either of the previous in those 2 departments, though I have more appreciation for the first. Sort of like FF6 - it's not a game I worship as others do, but I respect it due to its legacy and such.

I'm definitely in camp A.
I almost squeaked with glee when I noticed that my Elven Warden's helmet matched the ancient elven armour,
and most of my friends can tell you that story/characters matter more to me than anything else.
I also tend improvise on the spot... I have a strategy, but I'm often surprised by a lack of poultices.
I'm wow'd that you got my views and tendencies so well kept in one neat paragraph.
