Both, towards camp B.
That said, I don't need high end graphics but especially the combat mechanics have to be top notch and the game has to be a challenge. Theorycrafting tactics, equipment and skill-trees is what I really enjoy.
A good story and remarkable characters are the salt on top of it and can compensate little flaws in the mechanics. That's why I love Origins.

The moment the story or the characters, especially the protagonist, fail to get me invested, the mechanics have to be awesome. And in general, they aren't in BioWare games. A reason why I can't play DA II anymore.

A counterpart are the Souls games. A very subtle story and more or less shallow characters but the best RPG combat mechanics in the industry. That's why I still play and love them.

Both aspects are important in a game, graphics and mechanics are there to improve the experience,
but it's the story and the characters that make a RPG truly memorable and enjoyable.
So unless we are discussing a different genre I'm definitely in camp A.

I love both aspects of BW games for the most part. I'm really excited to see where the story goes and how my character can influence it. Also, I liked the combat from both DA:O and DA2 and am happy to see both available in DA:I.

I would actually like to see MORE simulation aspects in this next installment. Expand on the romance... give me more governance options when it comes to managing keeps and troops... trade/diplomacy options... more organic and variable personal/verbal interactions... etc.

I'll play for the story and the characters. That, and I've become invested in the world of Thedas after two games.

Story. Specifically, getting to know my companions.

Ehhhh. Ummmm.

See thing is I really liked Origins and have had quite a good few days worth of playing it (like, I've had countless characters but rushed most of them and quit them halfway or something) on my lazy days (back when I was at school and didn't have homework, I don't play many games unless I can REALLY rinse EVERYTHING in them because I'm a completionist) and got about 2-3 characters with 24 hours (nearly exactly) each on them all with differing choices.

Then DA2 came along, didn't like it that much (only rented it from blockbusters, goodnight sweet prince) and I fancied myself as a keyboard warrior at the time with too much time on my hands and not a lot to think about so I decided to be an idiot all across these forums. But I've sorted my life out and stopped the senseless trolling & hate, also managed to get DA2 for a bargin and played through it without so much anger (seriously, I got angry over video games!). I still think it was a shoddy game with a lot of wasted potential but publishers, money etc etc

So the only reason I'm actually buying DA:I and playing it is because I have a shred of trust for BioWare to do some good, at least SOME and not have the same hysteria that surrounded ME:3 luckily they're different teams and Dragon Age is less popular than Mass Effect, and Bioware (I think) understands most of what their audience wants and has next gen technology to some extent, its still being released on the 360 and that but next gen technology is slow to take over. Hopefully they won't cop out, but I've honestly been muuuuuch more impressed by the DA:I demo videos than I have by the ME:3 demos when they were released.

So the reason I'm playing is because: pls BioWare pls
