A while ago, if you installed the retail game via the DVDs, Origin would recognise the game as installed. Recently, Origin has been updating the game and making a complete mess of it.
First they removed the Launcher exe for no reason. Then they added a second copy of the game shortcut to the Windows Game Explorer. Here: http://i.imgur.com/uHKpygV.jpg
Not only that, but the Thumbnail they use for it is stolen from a guy from Deviant Art. Here is proof: http://kamizanon.dev...-v1-1-341838038
They also changed the regular game exe icon to some ugly 64x64 icon with "DA" instead of the cool Grey Warden symbol.
All the DLC, which were all installed in the Documents folder were re-downloaded into the game folder. So, now there were 2 copies of the same DLC.
Launching the game came up with an EA login/activation window, which took me ages to get working so I could activate and run the game.
Many of my mods have stopped working. Had to reinstall them.
Not to mention, Origin did this to the game without asking me. I tried unistalling and reistalling from the DVD, but Origin again tries to make a massive update to the game. All it does is removes content, breaks a bunch of things and puts a bunch of stolen stuff into it.
As someone who is a bit compulsive with keeping things neat, this is driving me crazy.
Anyone else having this issue, and know how to stop it updating an already up-to-date game? Thanks.
