Okay, so I think I've applied the HD textures to just about everything stock and DLC in ME3, but a handfull of packs out of all of them will not run at all.  Every time I try to run them through Mod Maker, ME3Explorer crashes.

Yes, I've ran each little checkmark box one at a time and each file individually, and it still crashes the program.  Do I have buggy texture downloads or is it something else?  If it's the former, anyone know where non-buggy ones are?  I forgot which textures I downloaded came from which person or which ones came from some collection someone else gathered and tossed online; my mod folder is a mess because of it.

I thought grabbing the latest version of ME3Explorer would help to, but that thing is nowhere to be found online and I don't know how to download stuff from the SVN like the ME3E site suggests, so I'm at a loss.

edit: lol, I posted the thread without linking to the textures.  I tossed them all into a RAR file for everyone's convenience.

It is likely a function of you not having the svn (latest) version of ME3explorer that is the issue.

To load the SVN version and keep it updated:

****
The best way to acquire the svn version of ME3explorer, if you do not have an svn tool, is to download and install TortoiseSVN (http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.html).
Once you've installed the app, create a folder for ME3explorer (I created my ME3Explorer folder in my Documents folder).  Right click on this new folder in your navigator window and there should now be TortoiseSVN entries in the context menu that appears.  Select "SVN Checkout" and a window will appear.  The top entry field will be "Url of repository".  In that window enter: svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/me3explorer/code/  In the window below the Url of Repository window should be the location of the current ME3Explorer directory (plus "code" subdirectory added by TortoiseSVN).  It is isn't then select the button at the right end and navigate to your ME3explorer directory.
In the middle of the TortoiseSVN window will be a selector for "Checkout Depth".  Select "Fully Recursive" if it isn't already showing.  At the bottom of the window you want to make sure the button for Revision is selected for "HEAD revision".
Select "OK". The directory will now load with all the ME3explorer code and binaries.  After this first checkout, every few days to once a week you can (SHOULD) right-click on your ME3explorer directory and from the TortoiseSVN menu items shown select "SVN Update" so your copy of ME3explorer remains up-to-date.

If what Getorex said doesn't fix the problem then check the dates of when the .mods where created I believe .mods from before august 2013 no longer work correctly due to a change in formatting and how ME3 Explorer reads these files. If you find the files are older than August 2013 than you are best to find new .mods that are created after Auguest 2013. At least that's what I remember reading awhile ago on a forum.

Both above posters are correct. Old .mods are dangerously annoying to debug and no one will help you if you insist use them I'm afraid.

And similarly with the svn build. It's fully updated and has all the new bells and whistles along with all the patches and bandaids. You describe having to click through bunches of checkboxes? That is old school and entirely my bad...

Another thing, you can (for the most part) now ditch .mods for textures and just use the .tpf's. I think it's safer. *cough* Totally unbiased of course :D

EDIT: Also this: http://me3explorer.f...g-svn-t252.html

I hate tpfs. Having to open texmod, select the mods I want, select the game I want, and then having to wait 5-15 minutes for the process to load all the way is tedious to me when I want to just jump into a game and play. I'd rather just replace the textures outright.

Getting the latest SVN worked almost flawlessly (user error), but I haven't tested it yet. I'll poke around in the dates as well.

edit: Just checked a few of those files; the ones that caused problems were created before August.

I assume my best bet would be to convert the tpfs to mods and then simply run mod maker, correct?

@ItsFreakinJesus

The new SVN now offers automatic conversion of TPFs to MOD files. Bear in mind that sometime it can cause some hiccups, so choose wisely. You have to hit the following modules in the following module to create the conversation.
1. Textplorer
2. Modmaker

Sorry I forgot to mention direct tpf installation as survivor kinda mentioned.

See here: me3explorer.freeforums.org/using-the-tpf-tools-t937-20.html

Wait, I can just use tpfs now? Sweet, less fiddling around for me.

Thanks for all of info and help peeps. I think I can get things going from here now that I got things updated and know I don't have to do check 530 files individually to make sure they're not crashing something.
