And Gaider wrote her. He always writes at least one romanceable companion.

Gaider wrote two romances for DAI and two companions, so unless the game has none-follower romance like ME3...

I think there high chances that Cassandra might be romanceable. We don't know if she'll be restricted to a gender, though.
On an unrelated note, if there aren't non-companions romance in DAI, and Gaider wrote only two companions, it means that the second companions he wrote is  definitely not Cole.

I think Gaider said it just wasn't good business sense to restrict on male/female lines, so all of the romances will have a bi option.

He never said that. He stated that due to limited resources the best compromise is to make everyone bisexual, but his personal choice would be to give everyone multiple choices, but different.
That was before the time extension, though he returned on the topic several times. He or anyone in Bioware never stated which approach DAI will present, but from what they stated later in some panels (and Gaider's blog) it seems that they aren't following DA2's approach.

Well I have no problems with it, personally.

I think Cassandra's romance to a blood mage should end like Morinth's romance.

You "seduce" her... roll around in your underwear - then she pulls out a dagger (from where?!) and says: HA! Got you NOW filthy blood mage! BOOM!

Watching Cassandra murder knife a blood mage PC would be hilarious.

Ahem... sorry.

The world ending because of such.

...

Not much of a achievement, there.

I have a hunch that Cassandra isn't going to be a LI at all.

@Willowhugger: The world doesn't end... Cassandra saves it instead of you.

And - I'm just joking.

I know, I know.

I admit, that does seem like a viable option. If you're going to play a member of the most hated group in the world--it's kind of hard to complain if people don't like you. The only way you can make being a Blood Mage worse is if you're an ELF Blood Mage.

it would kind of belittle the idea of her character being scarred by what happened to her brother and why she hates mages

Based on her relationship with Galyan and the fact that she blamed Meredith for the Battle of Kirkwall (instead of Anders), I think Cassandra is a little more complex than some might think.

Plus, she is really civil with Vivienne in the gameplay we've seen.

Do you think Cassandra will be the same way to a Tal-Vashoth or Dalish protagonist?

All women love big strong horny men, it's just that most don't know it yet.

I doubt it would even get that far, I think she would be pretty hostile to you just using blood magic. She lost family to blood mages, she doesn't seem like the forgive and then forget type. I think it it is for the best if party NPCs keep their backbone but this case is probably too much of an implementation hassle with a touch of love conquers all.

Anyway, I thought I remembered reading that some Seekers are supposedly 'rumored' to be immune to blood magic as well.

Considering what Blood Mages have done to Cassandra, I don't think if you roll Blood Mage she shouldn't be an option. That just seems to betray her character and convictions and thus become an overall weaker character for it.

A romance between Cassandra and a blood mage should end with her doing an impression of a book/map on your heart.
