Is there a bad shotgun in the game?

The only three shotguns I don't like are the Katana, Scimitar and Eviscerator (thanks to the Wraith). I will use all the others on gold or platinum, yes even the disciple.

For crusader I prefer TSol, Proxy - bang*4 - MM - 4 more bangs, HSol might be good as well in that role but I choose 8 bangs with multiplicative 20% and FASTA over 4 bangs with additive 70% (combined with better passives and stuff, on-host stability comes handy as well). Also dat PM stagger.
Also I love to use it on Destroya (as a secondary for broophoon), both piercing modes + AP ammo 4 - so much penetration... I always use lolScaner with my Destroyer.

But the gun is good not only on those guys, it shines in Sabo's hands.

tl:dr NO WAY CRUSADA IS BAD!!!!

Ok, now gimme no-cheeze platinum build for Scimitar, and no biotics/grenadiers/flamers etc. plz, the kit should rely on scimitar as on his main source of damage.

Agreed - but it's kinda fun if you slap on Shock Trooper gear and a shotty amp with either disruptor or phasic ammo (since it fires a single slug it doesn't negate shield gate like most shotties)... and THEN use it on a regular human soldier.

Try it on the Salarian Infiltrator, with ED specced for max damage.  Use it like people used to use the Black Widow before the shield gate changes and Phasic rounds, except at closer range.  Cloak - ED - Shoot.  Put on Geth Scanner and Drill Rounds for wallhax, or use Disruptor rounds.



*blinks* - you know, that had never actually occurred to me ... and my SI is a shotgun build, normally with the Raider or Piranha (used to be my go-to class for platinum).  :pinched:

Frag organic bleed damage is too good to pass up, expecially with the armor-damage evo, as was pointed out to me once upon a OnlyUseMeGI-time.  The only armored units it doesn't affect are Atlas, Prime, Pyro, and Cerberus Turret.

I like spike damage to take down things fast. Yeah organic bleed damage is good but that time frame is really determental to me on Plat especially with friends who kill stuff fast. Rather have two more nades for spike damage/AOE stagger personally.

Huntress with Incendiary. Of course anything with incendiary works on her. Crusader on her maybe the most deadly setup for her with incendiary. Dark Channel on one thing. Warp/Incendiary DOT on all armor; second crusader shot dissolves anything armored if it's warped.

Crusader arguably is the best shotgun in the game. Friend of mine cleans plat with a crusader like bronze. GI/ TSol,  high velocity barrel, shredder mod + warp ammo (phantoms).

You do not need equipment for the kickback. And "many" and "far better"? No.

On the right kit, the Disciple is Gold viable.  On Infiltrators with the right consumables, the damage is in excess of 7000 per clip (4 shots).

Thanks for the offer but i'm a console peasant, and on console at least, the Claymore, Wraith, Reegar and Raider are all better shotguns

Schimitar. Bad damage and bad accuracy. Katana is still more viable on Gold. Crusader is the Sniper Shotgun!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses it, but I really haven't seen anyone else doing it (in Gold PUGS at least).  You can 1-shot a lot of enemies with body shots, and the Crusader does pretty good armor damage with the Proxy Mine debuff.  You can do a similar setup with the Turian Sentinel with damage-specced Overload, but I don't like it as much.

I love the Crusader and do quite well with it, but I always struggle to find a character that can take the weight and still provide some power use.

The Krolord is the best fit I've found as it gives the slow fat guy a ranged attack and the cooldown doesn't really have much of an effect.

Would appreciate any suggestions as I don't us the Crusader as much as I would like.

But, but if the Wraith is better than the Claymore then the Eviscerator must be better than the Wraith. 3>2>1, right guise? :blink::lol:

Eviscerator isn't bad on the GI, SI, or AIU IMHO. Every shotgun is OP on the huntress when using incendiary.

Any infiltrator puts it to good effect. Particularly ones with a stunning ability. FQI is probably most people's favorite, SI is good as well, Huntress, etc. Getting in reps with the weapon/kit helps best of all though. Sabotage has a perfect stun where the target just stops. ED and DC have a little different stunning animation that takes getting use to.

Infiltrators are so OP, but Infiltrator Shepard has the most OP tact. cloak though. 90% damage along with Sniper Evolution on Rank 6b that allows 40% more Sniper damage. :o But that's Story though.

Most shotguns are good but some I just don't like the feel of. Like the Wraith, it intheory has all that I want in a shotgun but it has a bit of a weird 2nd shot delay I find (or that I imagine.) I just miss way too many shots with it.

Shotguns are definitely the best weapon class in my opinion, with lots of good and different options to choose from. But there are some pretty poor shotguns too, like the Scimitar and Katana - they're good on the GI but that's because GI.
Although I do really like the way the Katana sounds.

It's far from optimal, but I have a lot of fun with a Crusader Kroguard. I use smart choke and HVB on most shotguns, but since the Crusader has inherent penetration and perfect accuracy it frees up a mod slot to mount the Omni-blade, which fortunately doesn't add weight to an already heavy gun. You have to play a little more cautiously than normal though, because even with everything specced for faster recharge you can still only charge once every 6 seconds or so.

Just tried it out an a U/U/G lobby, off host (but there wasn't much lag anyway) - turned up Dagger Hazard, Cerberus... even with the vision impairing dust-storm (negated a bit by Geth Scanner) that was actually pretty effective. And with the HVB and standard AP mod you can happily shoot Phantoms through the floor of the control room heh.

With ED and PM to stagger, Nemeses, Phantoms and Goons are a lot easier to deal with than using the Crusader on the (no conc shot) HSol only Atlases take a litle tiny bit longer.
