The only person I would like to see make a ME is JJ Abrams. The man is a god.

ME 1 would be a bit of a stereotype when compared to the last thirty years of Scifi movies. ME 2 would be impossible without having the audience vote on key plot moments while watching the movie. So a film or TV series focusing on another character say a party member or Anderson might work. This theory only applies if you want to say cannon.

If not ignore everything I just wrote and make something with the most of Asari strippers, Krogans shooting, dreadnoughts blasting and most of all punching reporters in the gut and Saren in the gob.

*cringe* No. Shep's already too canonized for my taste. And the number of 'canon' supremacists would undoubtedly increase when the movie-only crowd comes in...

I think a Saren movie would be good. a cgi film that would set it befor ME1 and show how he met sovren and how he sought out the geth and turned to the villian.I think that would be a great movie and keep the cannon intact and not spoil anything for those who wish to keep ME sacred.

When I think about it too, they could do a movie each on the First Contact War, Rachni Wars, Krogan Rebellion. As well as the books if they wanted to haha.

I wouldn't want one. The game is like an epic blockbuster anyway and it'd be disconcerting to see a game with choices as a highlight be turned into a film.

the lore is so rich that they could make a numebr of movies and never even touch on shepard or any thing that happens in the games.

No one said the movie has to be about shepard. You could do a Saren orgin movie or a movie about one of the wars or even the prothians and their war with the reapers.

The only thing i liked from him was Star trek, everything else aint much. I say Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade runner, Black hawk down) or James Cameron (Aliens, Avatar, Titanic, Terminator) But i cant see them making a movie addaption of a video game.

Yeah that would be tight. Maybe a little after me3, that way only some of the major decisions would carry over. And of course they would be the canon shepard. It could be a new story with some of the same characters everyone knows, and the same universe we all know, i'm all for that.

Like many other people I think that if a mass effect movie were to be made it shouldn't focus on Shepard at all. I play a femshep and I'm 95% sure that movie!shep would be male, which would ruin the movie for me if I ever actually tried to watch it. A movie about humanity discovering the prothean ruins, and the first contact war would, in my opinion, be better received by fans of the game, who each have their own interpretations of Shepard.

I think that would be a great movie. they could make up new origenal charetors to star in it and not have to worry about shepard and the players cannon. this way every one is happy and we all get to see a big screen ME Movie.

So of anything I've read in here it would be either:

#1 A movie on one of the books or previous wars.

or

#2 Not a movie at all, but a TV series. Which in my opinion would be about another Spectre (Nihlus maybe?) and the missions he goes on. Which would have to be placed before the Mass Effect games. As other people have said and I think myself, nothing can be really placed after the games as there are many decisions that could change the storyline.

Lord, no, not James Cameron. Not after Avatar. *shudders* At the risk of inviting flaming hordes of fans, while the movie was gobsmackingly beautiful it was almost utterly lacking in the story/character depth/development quarter...and that's far more important to me, I think. An ME movie deserves a stellar story...that's what the IP's being built on, after all...and if Avatar is any indication, then Cameron doesn't have it. =/

If they do amke a tv series it should be a Saren show. show him as a good guy for a change and at the end of the series have him find Sovrend and be the start of ME1

Exactly, all the other supplementary in-universe material (books, comics) avoided showing Shepard for exactly this reason, why would Bioware go and undo all the effort they put into making sure there is no real "canon" Shepard.

Then the end is pretty much the first book (Did you read it?)
Saren has pretty much always been good, but hes really ruthless and cold hearted when he does his work. It's so awesome.

well putting the movie in a time frame like this leaves room for exploreation. they could make new heros and villians that where not mentioned in the games. so it would tell tis own story wail leaveing the main shepard story intact and untouched. its the safe way to go wail still keeping true to the fans of the ME univurs

No I didnt get a chance to read it.. my book store sucks and dose nto carry a lot of books out side of Twilight or fishing guids ((I live in the mountans)).

But a tv series about Saren would be awsome and give more depth to his charetor and show more sides of him.. give him a love intrest and have some tragity or something. give him a reason for falling to Sovrend

Putting this size of a game and universe in a movie would just not work, and if they crammed the rough outline in 2 hours, it would most likely be terrible.

Now a once a week TV show that is 30min or an hour would be fantastic.... because it would be able to cover so much.

But sir, Mass Effect 1 & 2 are already films in themselves, just in video game form!

Well Saren explains in the game why he sided with Sovereign.

Though if you do go and read the book, it gives you a pretty good background on Saren as it is, you get to see how he works and thinks. Which is a gift in itself lol, I love Saren in that book when hes working.
