Well, it also extends into Awakening with Nathaniel Howe.

Another point in the HN's favor for me. Him and Lord Eddelbrek.

I find it comes down to the voices.

Dalish male - yes

any Cousland - yes

city elves - no

dwarves - not so bad as elves but no, not really.

in DA2 - femhawke is bad

Don't the DE and CE have identical voices?

The human warrior/rogue is the least jarring class to play. The elves/dwarves and mages all should be treated a lot differently in Ferelden and in 95% of the game they aren't. It doesn't make a lick spit of difference despite all the persecution elves and mages in particular suffer under. Outside of the origins you don't feel it. I LOVED the CE origin but once my elf left that tutorial level the rest of the game was utterly generic and that really soured me on those builds.

Quite likely. The thing is that I can cope with the voices of Tamlen and Fenarel and obviously the warden as he never says much, but the women's voices more than anything just grate. I prefer the voices for Merrill and Marethari in DA2 but have to mute out Lia, Oranna and Nyssa.

I'm starting to see a trend of prefering the male to femaile voices for most characters. It's just a personal, subjective view. Who knows where these things come from? B)
