Title says it all. Aside from the fact that I'm struggling to find a way to back up my data, I want to keep my current save data from ME1 when I switch from this hard drive to my new one. Are the Config and Save folders all I really need? I believe I can just re-download everything else.

Just grabbing the save files should work.

If you own the game on Steam, then it will save everything to the cloud(although I'd still take the save files just in case).

I have all three ME games on Origin, unfortunately. As far as the Config file goes, I've messed with almost all of the .ini files in there, it's been a few weeks since I've played, and I can't exactly remember what I did and did not monkey with. Should I still take the Config folder because of this?

Unless you want to go back later and fiigure out what you changed, I'd say take it.

If you're only upgrading the HDD, can't you just use one of those HDD clone utilities like Clonezilla or the easy to use Acronis?

HDD manufacturers also offer similar software for free on their websites. Unless you want to do a clean install and start over, I find it easier to clone the entire partition to the new HDD and then expand it later with Windows' Disk Management.

Savegames are easily transferable. All you need is the content in your save folder, put it on an USB stick and it's ready to go, so yeah.

Nah. While it may seem ignorant, my gut tells me fresh installs are always better than cloning. Plus, my O.C.D. dictates that the fewer files that need to be transferred between drives the better. I also intend to use my current HDD as a backup drive so I will be wiping it entirely.

Plus, I personally wouldn't mess with hard drive partitioning/formatting in Windows. I always perform my surgery from the BIOS, lol.
