During my "experiments" with classes I've never played, I'm currently building up a pale master.
From a former attempt many years agao I remember, that her touch attacks NEVER EVER hit.
This time I gave her "improved unarmed strike" and skill focus for "melee touch attack", as I give skill focus "ranged touch attack" to a warlock. I'm really not sure if the unarmed strike helps. To bring up her pathetic attack, I mostly buff her STR with Bull's Strength.
Now I watched it closely during the Crystal Cave fight against all these trolls and ogres. She failed her two attacks and I saw, that the ogre saved both times against a DC of 17. The same ogre could not save against her PK, which was a DC of 22.
Now I wonder, if there is a way to raise the DC of her touch attack. Any ideas?

Here's the formula: http://nwn2.wikia.co...ki/Touch_attack
Pale masters are not worse at touch attacks than wizards. If you want to increase your touch attack AB on a wizard, take eldritch knight, which is a high BAB class. Improved unarmed strike does nothing, and I wouldn't waste a feat on weapon focus for that (except maybe on a warlock).

By the way, if you want to make sure you hit, cast True Strike first, then attempt the touch attack.
Getting Eldritch Knight is also good, though if you want to max both Eldritch Knight and Pale Master, then you'll need to go into epic levels. (5 Wiz/10 Pale/10EK=25 level)
Just casting True Strike before any touch attack is a good idea. That's pretty much the only reason it was made.

By the way, I forgot your wanted to increase her DC, not just her attack.
Without Kaedrin's pack the Pale Master's Touch DC is fixed.
With K' pack though, it's 10 + Pale Master level + Cha modifier like in PnP, making it amazing for Sorcerer Pale Masters. Reaching a DC of 25, at level 15 with 20 Cha.
Also the classic way of "increasing" DCs is by debuffing the enemy. Curse, Enervation, Level Drain, Curse Song, Blackguard's Aura.
All those decrease the saves of the target making the DC better in a way.
If you want to increase her chance to touch the target, then use True Strike, Greater Heroism and Inspire Competence from a Bard character.
Generally, if you play the campaigns and you're a fan of the Pale Master, get K's pack. Not only will you have better DCs but also the casting is 9/10 instead of the vanilla 5/10.
Before Arkalezth corrects me, K's pack changes some stuff you might not want changed but they're nothing too important.
For example Death Ward becoming 1 min/level and Greater Restoration doesn't full heal the target. But both of those are PnP changes.
Some other ones that come to mind are no Knockdown on items (or Rings of the Ram only?).

Definitely on Ring of the Ram, not sure about other things. Also, it makes all CON-boosting items deal repeated damage to the player.

I guess I'll have to reply. The only "correction" I'm going to make is saying that whether those changes are important or not depends on the person. I personally find some of them annoying, like moving haste from time domain to level 4 so it cannot be persisted, or making combat expertise's penalty apply to warlock blasts but not to other touch attacks, etc. Just putting a couple of examples from the top of my head (I'm not going to bother cheching out the list of changes to find others I may not remember about). I also dislike how some of these things are supposed to be there in order to "balance the game" while the pack adds a hundred imbalanced things for each of those "balance fixes".Luminus wrote...

I haven't used KPack for a long while now (except for modules where it's built in) and I'm not the only one who prefers the vanilla game. I find most of the additions too cheesy, I disagree with some of the "fixes", and learning the rules of the game once is already hard enough, so why should I use it? That's just my opinion, though, and YMMV. If the OC wants to try it and see if s/he likes it, be my guest.
