I'm just saying, and I've said it before.  Look, there is nothing wrong with that.  I love the Underworld movies.  They are just ridiculous and stupid stories.  I like watching Commando from the '80s, because it makes me laugh.  I like Starship Troopers because I like to watch space marines kill hordes of insects with big guns.  I like the Transformers movie because Optimus Prime fighting Megatron is awesome.  Now, while none of those movies include a god awful ending, I wouldn't call them works of art, unless I want to start calling the line painted in the middle of a street art.

And, let's face it....how many good stories even make money?   If I ask people here about a story regarding a comic book/fantasy/sci fi nerd, guns, lost love and a person who fights to deal with themselves, AND which won the Pulitzer for best fiction within the past 10 years....without looking at a search engine, how many people could name the book? (Go ahead and look.  And read it).

You would think a book like that would be known amongst a community of sci fi gamers, even if they hadn't spent the time to read it because Tuchanka needed to be saved for the 17th time.

AND, let's just forget that this isn't really a story so much as a video game which had choices which were supposed to matter....let's go ahead and just say that it was a nice idea but we all should have known that this wasn't our story despite being told that it was.

Just admit it....liking something doesn't have anything to do with quality.  Did The Departed make as much money at the movie theater as Avatar?  Does liking something make it good?

I'm going to say no.  And I'm going to say if you really are a fan, the sooner you admit that, the better Image IPB

Go bring it.  I'm ready.

Same could be said for the entire trilogy, really.

Just watch people try and defend ME2's plot.

A most fascinating exposition, good fellow. I do urge thee to recite it once more.

You summed up my thoughts on the entire series in that single title. Its kinda lame and the writing ranges from alright to bad In comparison to better games. But I still enjoy it.

The thing about the ending, and the people who like it and don't like it.......

They all have representation.

Those who say the endings are bad have had articles and youtube dissections and so on and so forth......

The pro enders had a colin Moriearty vid that was heavy on entitled opinion and low on factual reason...... a bit like listening to a politician in the Uk tbh.

Where are the youtubers who like the ending, who then approached the topic with the same level of rationale as the ones who didn't? Because though individual points can be argued for and against, the over arching reason why the ending was good, has never hit the same lofty heights as those who argued and rationalised why the ending was bad.

Where is the counter argument that extends beyond, "I liked it because I did"!

I tried spirosz, but my Jackmancer was also a Liaramancer. That guy obviously has some psychological problems, and I use that to explain all plots anywhere.

Jack =/= main plot.

And that's unfair and you know it

That doesn't defend the plot. That defends why the game was great despite the overall plot. The journey (and who you shared it with) was better than the destination.

I like aspects of ME3's ending. I dislike other aspects.

And my appreciation for what I like outweighs the rest.

That and, well, the ending was enough to inspire a 15 chapter fanfic where I take the Control ending and run with it, so...

@OP: Which Pulitzer Prize book would that be then? The Brief Wondrous Life Of Oscar Wao by any chance? (No, I haven't read it.)

How did Garrus make anything about ME2 better? If anything, ME2 made Garrus worse.

Plenty of people have explained why they like the ending. I see more people listing specific reasons as to why they enjoy it, than I see people saying "I liked it cuz I jus' did". Pro-enders have explained their views many times. It's not their fault that they're drowned out, and dont feel the need to constantly repeat themselves.

Do any ME2 fans really defend it's plot?

I defend it because of the characters. And the swagger. Something about Shep is slightly Bruce Campbell-ish.

Fan implosion isn't really representitive of anything other than how fans increasingly overrect to just about everything these days.

I actually can see why people would like the endings. The general concepts are OK.

I don't see why anyone would like Priority Earth though.

Paul Verhoeven's Starship troopers is just an science-fiction action movie? I'm pretty sure you see Robocop just like starship troopers. That's bad reading.
Mass effect trilogy (thanks to its original ending) has the most interesting writing in the video game history, that's all. You'll see it in few year but still refuse to admit it. ;)
