I actually can see why people would like the endings. The general concepts are OK.

I don't see why anyone would like Priority Earth though.

Oh dude, I love the beginning of that mission - the sound team did an excellent job with that Reaper "horn" going off every few seconds, gave me goosebumps.  That's pratically the only thing I like, but still - fucking epic.

Yeah, the beginning was cool. Both in sounds/and the gameplay. The cover there is fun, and the shaking camera when the Reaper goes off. Could've used more presence from Hammer there, but I liked it.

It's like it was designed at some other stage.

I liked it at first because it felt like fighting in a legit war-zone, and the music was great.

Then I came here and everyone kept saying how it could have been so much more; now I hate and dread playing it. =[

"I'm okay!"
"Youshur?"

Mark Meer really phoned it in for that one. "Oh, he survived, that's acceptable."

EDIT: I suppose I should say something about the OP since I'm here. I like the font?

Despite the fact that war assets should have factored more into it, I still feel that way.

Not a favorite, but far from the abomination everyone makes it out to be.

You learn so much by coming here. I had no idea there was any doubt about Shepard's survival until I read threads here after the EC came out.

I think the only music I like is when Hackett enters the fleet (it's the same one they use for the N7 day video). There's also a tune that's reminscent of ME1 and ME2 intro/suicide mission tune, but it barely plays. That needed to stand out a helluva lot more.

Anything's better than the awkward squad-member groans when he dies.

Thankfully, I've never actually seen those in-game.

He actually talks about that in an interview, turns out that was supposed to be the response for a "romance" Steve and it got stuck (either a bug or oversight) into all responses by Bioware. He thinks it's funny.

I don't have a problem with Shepard yelling the name of the squad's shuttle driver as he's crashing.

I do prefer FemShep's "Cortez!", though.

I think the main problem with Priority: Earth is that the bulk of it is rather pedestrian. Most of the mission is just excessive fighting and nothing about the game play changes except for the sheer number of things Shepard and 2 squadmates have to shoot at. Despite being the grand unified final battle, it still feels like its just Shepard vs the world. I think BioWare made the mistake that somehow more violence equals more epic. The feeling of being overwhelmed and the finality of the mission is quickly replaced by the forty or so minutes it takes to slog through the level.

I'm just saying, and I've said it before.  Look, there is nothing wrong with that.  I love the Underworld movies.  They are just ridiculous and stupid stories.  I like watching Commando from the '80s, because it makes me laugh.  I like Starship Troopers because I like to watch space marines kill hordes of insects with big guns.  I like the Transformers movie because Optimus Prime fighting Megatron is awesome.  Now, while none of those movies include a god awful ending, I wouldn't call them works of art, unless I want to start calling the line painted in the middle of a street art.

And, let's face it....how many good stories even make money?   If I ask people here about a story regarding a comic book/fantasy/sci fi nerd, guns, lost love and a person who fights to deal with themselves, AND which won the Pulitzer for best fiction within the past 10 years....without looking at a search engine, how many people could name the book? (Go ahead and look.  And read it).

You would think a book like that would be known amongst a community of sci fi gamers, even if they hadn't spent the time to read it because Tuchanka needed to be saved for the 17th time.

AND, let's just forget that this isn't really a story so much as a video game which had choices which were supposed to matter....let's go ahead and just say that it was a nice idea but we all should have known that this wasn't our story despite being told that it was.

Just admit it....liking something doesn't have anything to do with quality.  Did The Departed make as much money at the movie theater as Avatar?  Does liking something make it good?

I'm going to say no.  And I'm going to say if you really are a fan, the sooner you admit that, the better Image IPB

Go bring it.  I'm ready.

For me it wasn't so much the shout but the lines afterwards are just like:

"Oh you're okay?"

"Ya, Shepard."

"Alright, bro."

Yeah, the shift in tone is funny. Kind of reminds me of British comedy.

The only issue I had with the endings (if people want to choose spaztastic endings like control and synthesis that's up to them) is the stupid breath scene.
Dying is fine; I had thought she had most of the way through the ending sequence. The final breath scene just left me thinking wtf? Why leave it at that? What's the point in leaving possibly one of the most important things (the survival of your 150hr character) so ambiguous?
The endings are all variations of space magic which I am fine with (although debating their meanings is amusing) but to leave the fate of the main character in only one of the three endings as 'she's dead.. ah well, it was a good journey but sacrifice for the greater good and... wait.. what?' was massively disappointing.

I know that one!

My response is you aren't imaginative enough.  Nor are you a true fan.  And you won't buy the next game anyway.

And? That doesn't stop Cortez from being the shuttle pilot that gets Shepard and crew to all their locations, in and out of tricky situations.  It's not like Shepard's proclaiming his/her love by saying their name, or something.
