What are your thoughts on the previous redesign and do you think there will or should be another one?

They aren't drastically off from each other, outside of wardrobe(at least based on the screenshots). I'll go with the answer above: A graphically upgraded version of the original darkspawn concept from DA:O.

Agreed i liked the old design because they werent too drastically different from their regular counterparts, im not a fan of how they move at all either. The genlocks are a bit ridiculous now in my opinion, what was wrong with keeping them like dwarves?

They will upgrade because designers need work.

DA2 darkspawn looked too skeletal. Were more like animated corpses than spawn. Another shortcut that was a step backwards.

I'm happy for a redesign again (chalkspawn are lame) but I absolutely loathe the DA:O darkspawn that just look like Zombies or Gremlins in super ornate armour the likes of which only the upper echelon of nobility in Ferelden has access to.

I think you need look no further than Heroes of Dragon Age for the answer to that question. The game does feature some slightly-altered designs for the darkspawn, but they retain the "pale zombie" look. I think the darkspawn's appearance is locked in at this point.

Personally, I don't mind. The hurlocks aren't fantastic, but the genlocks and shrieks are vastly-improved.

Anything looks better than the DA2 Darkspawn. They look like the putty ninjas from Power Rangers.

I don't know about the hurlocks, but I doubt the genlocks will change much from Legacy. The concept art about the Inquisitor travelling the desert shown the head of a dead genlock, which is the same of Legacy.
About the shrieks, did they appear in Legacy? I haven't played it, and I haven't seem any screenshots of them.

Return with the decayed noseless tolkien-ish orcish design of DA:O but more polished

Like someone said, DA:2 Darkspawn remember me those power rangers ninja fodders, the Ogre also lost a LOT of its previous menacing look too

I hope to see the DAO version of the darkspawn. Basically give me everything from DAO but better. DA2 darkspawn were goddamn awful.

I think most darkspawn introduced in Legacy looked okay. Genlocks were good, and hurlock alphas were imo amazing.

Ogres, hurlocks, emissaries and shrieks need better looks. I understand what they were going for with the da2 models, but they missed their mark. Also, none of that goofyness please.

I'm all for reasoning as to why they redesigned the darkspawn. The reason they have pale skin, makes sense. The reasoning for the crude looking armor, makes sense. The genlock overhaul, makes sense. They simply need more refinement and variety. They're darkspawn, not Tolkien-esque orcs.
