This is quite a rumour, but an interesting article by IGN suggests that Pixar is at least thinking, or already producing a pixar Star Wars film. I think it would definitley lead the series in a compelling direction, especially with a high-pedestal company like Pixar. Discuss.

Honestly?

I think Star Wars is the lollipop that's been making the round in a Kindergarden. Everyone had a lick and all that's left now is a stick with slobs of sugared saliva around it.

If anything, I'd advise Pixar to say no to that idea and do something original instead, because that's what they excel at.

Seems like there's going to be more than enough star wars films doing the rounds soon enough anyway, once episode seven sets the ball rolling.

As for Pixar, I think they should stay away, for the same reasons mentioned above.

Considering how devoid of new ideas they appear to be now, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Not sure if that'd be better or worse than the likes of Cars 2 or Revenge of the Monsters University.

Here's hoping they do something completely original instead.

Why no Incredibles sequel? Cars 3 got made and NOT Incredibles 2?

If Pixar made incredibles 2, I'm sure it would raise more buck than frozen.

It would probably be more mature than the prequel series.

I'm not really sure how I like the idea, though it was obviouse this would be brougt up from the moment Disney got Star Wars. I don't see Pixar doing Star Wars, not only becuase they've always done their own thing but I don't really think their type of animation is a fit.

If they did get started on something, my expectation of Pixar is that they'll make something really different. Like the first half of Wall-E with no human characters. I'd want them to avoid overplayed themes of the past films, like Heroes Journey, destiny & fate, & Gvs.E. Be very emotional with the story & characters, avoiding any & all exposition. I'd prefer if their involvement was more just the story & characters. They could write the script, design & write characters, & storyboard, but the rest could be someone else.

Considering that Pixar started as part of the computer division of Lucasfilm, I think a Pixar Star Wars movie would be like the franchise coming home.

I feel the same way. I pretty much lost interest after Return of the Jedi, but still suffered through one screening of each of the prequels. At this point, I don't give two shrimps about the entire series.

If Pixar did have anything to do with it...nah, nevermind. I hope they would just leave it alone.
