what are you looking forward to with the next Mass Effect game? Discussion?

found this video that covers a few things. pretty good



i agree with most of what was in this video, especially keeping the game a TPS, and some of the story and multiplayer elements.  you can tell they love the series and that it was a labor of love.


I am looking forward to revisiting the universe, not in a side story, but possibly in a new trilogy.  also, hoping to see new and old races, and what kind of story will emerge from the original trilogy. we know shepard won't be part of it, but we do agree with what the video says about shepard being around due to the endings. also some of what they said about the multiplayer was good, i would also say that when joining a game, an option to mod your character would be great. sometimes when you join, you are waiting to see what the game lobby settings will be, but if i'm joining  a game, i will need mods.

also, what this video says about game variants in multiplayer was spot on!

I think anyone who is still crawling around these forums 2 years later would be interested in any game that's set in the Mass Effect Universe. I know I am.

What sort of game would I like? I'm definitely into RPGs (moreso than just shooter-type games). What I particularly like from what Mass Effect had to offer was how people and situations changed based on choices made before (Wrex making a comment in ME3 about something you did in ME1, as a hypothetical example).

I like games where I can put something into them and get something more out later. I like "building" something -- a reputation, a physical city (e.g. SimCity), a power base, whatever. I definitely love story-driven games! I like games like Harvest Moon also, although I realize that's not necessarily what everyone wants.

Although, I gotta admit. Fighting evil ShepReaper God would make for an interesting congnitve dissonace within the player base.

So because that would be an epic troll and hillarious. I could get behind it......

Also, can it have Day 1 DLC on disc in which Garrus and Javik go on a journey with Star Brat... It will have a lot of art and integrity in it.

the part that bothers me about the synthesis ending is there is no real room for conflict, and just seems like everything....i dunno...no conflict! hahaha so....yeah.

If I could, I would laugh for a whole minute, but it isn't that funny, just weird.


(BTW I don't even want a canon Destroy. I loves my Reaper intelligences - I just want their overwhelming power not being so primary to narrative)

EDIT: Ok to be clear, I'm talking about literal, overtly shown, Control. If it's something more crazy theoretical like the Mass Shift 'leak' of us playing a transmigrated Catalyst that presents itself as a Shepard-like new entity..... well, maybe. Depends how deep we wanna go with that idea.
But anyway, literal Control? lol yikes.

There is only a possibility of a ME4 if Bioware can sit down and work out how all endings could possibly intersect at sometime in the future, the players individual choices can still carry over, but its the RGB ending problem they are going to have to work out, ME4 might have to minimalize the ME3 ending, the way ME3 minimalized the ME2 ending.

And a way to do that(and this is just off the top of my head, not necessarily the best way), Leviathans that want control over the galaxy, and seek to dominate both Synthetics and Organics, in Destroy the Reapers are already out of there way, and in Control and Synthesis , they destroy the Reapers pre-plot, and a halfway rebuilt galaxy is at the mercy of the ones who judged that the reapers should be created, and are more powerful than the Reapers with regards to indoctrination, Wrex/Wreave is indoctrinated and launches blindside attacks on Citadel races with his new giant Krogan army, Reports of Yahg sightings skyrocket throughout the galaxy, then the massive Turian military starts firing on Salarian and Asari homeworlds, has it seems the Leviathans goal is to force the galaxy to destroy each other, and sweep up the ashes, a confused and desperate council turns to the oldest(biological/adopted) child of the galaxy's legendary hero Shepard, for answers, and there father's/mothers legacy will weigh heavy on them has the galaxy collapses.

With Control and Destroy, the people are the same, With Synthisis, Organics and Synthetics have evolved to understand each other better, and have better relations, but preME3-organics are no longer green, in all 3 possibilities Organics and Synthetics will have to work closely together to survive, and there, you have minimalized ME3's ending, and the series can continue!!!!!

This was a very, very early idea for Shepard. In this image he has been forced to turn to Reaper technology to accomplish his goals (*cough* Saren *cough*) and he’s being confronted by the new human Specter, Ashley.
