Now I'm pretty sure these were revealed already. If you weren't aware then here you go.

So, I was checking out random Dragon Age lore on the DA Wiki site until I decided to look up anything new about the Inquisitor. While scrolling down I've noticed that they revealed the last names for some of the Inquisitor's race and class:

• Human Warrior - Trevelyan
  
  
  
  
• Elven Mage - Lavellan
  
  
  
  
• Qunari Rogue - Adaar
  
  
  
  
• Dwarven Warrior - Cadash

It might interest a lot of you that the Dwarf Warrior's last name is named after the Cadash thaig from Dragon Age: Origins. Those who played Origins would know its significant history within the dwarven city of Orzammar and the role it plays in both the Stone Prisoner and Witch Hunt. Could the Dwarf Warrior be descendent of House Cadash? If so, will it be making a return in Dragon Age Inquisition in a much bigger role? I'm interested in finding out and it makes playing a dwarf character a lot more interesting (not saying the Dwarf origins in the original weren't).

So, what do you guys think of the last names?

Im curious as to whether picking rogue or warrior changes the last name, i think being mage certainly does because being a mage will have a major impact on play throughs this time, considering the circumstances and what the devs have said

mhm people have speculated that the side quests for the dwarf will be based on your family history, hoping for shale references

Well maybe, but if we take into account of Orta (the drawen woman that claim she was a descendant from Ortan Thaig), everyone thought that line had ended since the fourth blight, but it is later discovered that she is a descendant
from that line.  It could happen again.

Trevelyan can be either Cornish or Breton (French). If the name is derived from the former it probably means the protagonist is from Ferelden. (again?!) If it is derived from the Breton surname, it probably means the protagonist is Orlesian.

given the human wardens accent, human inquisitor probably will be ferelden

Could be.  I don't think surnames translate directly into Thedosian geography, though.  The name Dumar is French but the viscount wasn't Orlesian.  

I hope the human non-mage will be a commoner.  One of the few things I didn't like about DAO was that some of the origins gave a big head start in wealth accumulation.  I think the dwarf noble had the most chance to make money during their origin.  The poor city elf didn't even get a shop to sell stuff at until Ostagar.  Neither did the human noble for that matter, but starting with Dog was a nice bonus.  Since backgrounds are not playable and are generic, I think every race is going to start out on fairly equal social footing.

It adds a level of control, and allows them to have strangers address the protagonist more specifically than, "hey, chap with the followers."

Yeah, its probably for the sake of voiced dialogue.

Characters will most likely refer to the Inquisitor by his or her last name occasionally.

I'm pretty sure rogues and warriors will get the same one, and from what they said, yes mages will get 3 separate one's that diverge and make them special though they aren't sure how much of a difference it needs to be given what may have lead up to the giant hole in the sky.

To give characters a past history and a background that we can fully explore in game after they scrapped their original plans for a human only character with diverse origins due to them bringing back race's and salvaging the background part and incorporated into the race and class.

It gives us more content and gives them the opportunity to expand the universe, and tell different stories.

Given his accent, from what we heard of it, and the surname, he could just as easily be from the Free Marches, not necessarily Fereldan. 

From what I remember from DA2 most of the citizens from Kirkwall had varying English accents, and since most of the trouble with the Mages vs Templars conflict started there it kinda makes sense that the Inquisitor could be from Kirkwall.
