All I want is a great and compelling story, rich comraderie, and the option of being a good old fashion hero/ine.

Isnt that what BioWare always done?

I'd argue not, no. Dragon Age 2 could be said to have no hero. The way ME3 ends, you could argue something similar.

I'd say that there is a good way and a bad way to try and do a failed hero/tragic struggle story and that Bioware hasn't hit that spot in their video game narrative stride as of yet... but I'd just as happily say they need to stick to a more widely satisfying theme and not try and be overly angsty in this release. Try and build a little more rapport and less divisiveness from the fanbase and focus on lots of options and types of outcomes, instead of just a few forced ones.

Be Prepared for the game of a lifetime. Be Prepared for much higher reviews. A Dragon Age era is tip-toeing nearer...

And RPG Features?

You'll fight some new creatures. Much loot will be hoarded, and you'll be rewarded, so ease up about Dragon Age 2. An RPG Beyond Compare - Be Prepared.

I think it will be a very entertaining game that makes a few innovative strides, heading above DA2 and somewhere closer to DA:O in terms of quality. Dragon Age will likely never be on my list of favorites for the video game world, but I'll probably like it more than the previous incarnations.

First Yuni get a new trick.

Fast Jimmy

I would argue they did that with DA2 but it wasn't the typical "can fix everything by being there"/

While I have plenty of issues with the ME3 endings how could that be perfect for every person? Other then being some trite everybody gets a double rainbow.

I see so much "realistic this and that" and then when forced to take a realistic approach people want unicorns and blue babies.

Stop the urge to respnd and take a long hard look at the settings BioWare was built (Mass effect and DA) they are not utopias.

I would also disagree that they hit that hero/tragic with KoToR but they also shouldn't be restricted to repeating that every time. Especially when they go out and create a whole new setting.

I love both games, so I'm thoroughly excited for this one. The one thing I'm anxious about is what they do to Hawke and the Warden. I'd much rather their tales' conclusions be left to our imagination than disposing of them unceremoniously.

People blame EA too much. Yea, EA's a piece of ****, but don't pretend that every mistake Bioware makes is EA's fault.

Obviously, I mean yea it would be smart to keep expectation low. However, if you ask me the ones that are making hard to do are the fans. We are the ones that are really hyping this game the most, which is mainly because we all do have high hopes for this game. Again in my honest opinoin.

I played and loved ME, ME2, ME3, DA:O, and DA2, so you could definitely say my expectations (and hopes) are high :)

Well, lets look at what EA did to C&C4, ME3, DA2, Sim City (ONLINE Required for Single Player).

No Modding support for this game.

Modding FIXED the ME3 Ending (see Nexus Website).

I have more hopes for Windows 9.

Modding didn't "fix" the ME3 ending, you don't have to like them (its understandable) but the endings are what they are. (MEHEM is non-canon, that however is another discussion).

On topic: OP that depends on the person really, some people do have high hopes, others not so much and so on.

Lower than normal expectations and a large grain of salt. ABC endings sucked with J.C.Denton in 2001. MEHEM and a torture chamber in Skyrim for bring back the will to play again.

I have no reason not to have high hopes since I've loved the entirety of the DA and ME games so far. I tend to be very laid back when it comes to games so there's not much about a game that can make me feel upset or put off. Heck, I didn't even mind the coloured endings in ME3 that people hate so much.

That said, I'm also doing my best not to get caught up in the hype while enjoying the ride at the same time.

Not in any way shape or form

I can't be disappointed if I'm expecting DA2 with ME3's ending

But seriously, my expectations could not be lower BioWare

Sure, you could.

You could expect Two Worlds 2 with Assassin's Creed 3's ending instead.  That'd be an even safer bet.

It's iffy for me. But on the bright side, at least different people code for DA than the ones that code for this place. I hope.

Eh, aside form TWII, most of these weren't actually bad concepts within themselves. It was their implimentation that was lacking, and I always have hopes that that will improve.

I sort of feel the same way. For me, however, my primary focus when it came to exploring Dragon Age was getting accustomed to the characters and building a rapport between them and the PC as the story went along. Both games, in my opinion, did this rather wonderfully, so I ended up loving the game, even with any technical or narrative issues that came down the road, though I found none that came close to breaking the experience for me. I trust BioWare completely to deliver on this again.
