No what I mean is either doesn't qualify her to be second in command of a military starship, and I don't buy this "secret agent" malarky either.

That she's a scientist, not a marine or naval officer?

Who says...? She's a high-ranking Cerberus operative, that much is clear.

Well, she is a scientist, because she's the project lead on Lazarus. She's responsible for the research that resurrects Shepard.

She just also happens to be a badass secret agent as well. That's quite a resume, I'd say, and makes her more than worthy of being my second-in-command. I hope there's an option to call her "LT."

Biomedical engineering and cybernetics =/= science

engineers and the like =/= scientists

Again, this is just me getting fussy over the semantics due to my field of study.

Besides, don't you people realize that those of high-intellect actually do get into the military officer/high rank positions much quicker than those who are just foot-soldiers?

Its because you are on a cerbus appointed mission, with cerebus equipment and vehicles, along with cerebus members. She also gets the office. I have no problem with this, she is Cerebus and has every right to make sure you are still on track to meet your objectives.

It's not a military starship. It was built by and for Cerberus.

Just to make things clear, the achievements call Miranda the "Cerberus Officer." It's Jacob who's called the "Cerberus Operative." :)

I had nothing but hate for Miranda since they revealed her. It could however be an overdone character intro that influenced my decision so I have not completely decided I will not give her a chance.

I will however attempt to bring to light whats going on to the council and the alliance if possible, and have no loyalty to Cerberus what so ever. If she listen's to Shep and does a good job I may even add her to a few missions if there is enough to spread around to all the team.

But if she starts barking order's, diregard's my decision's or takes to many action's with out my persmission she will just sit on the ship unless required to be present.

And dont pick on Garrus, he is the man. Its not like Shep didnt make bad decisions. Garrus probably had much better ways to stop Dr Saleon, but the decision wheel only had blow the ship up or let him get away as option's.

It's still run as a military vessel, the fact that it's run by private contractors is irrelevant. Surely you want people with the right qualifications running your expensive military-grade ship?

What? It's her character. Miranda is an agent of Cerberus, both as a science officer and a collector of information, manager of contacts, etc. She's espionage, black ops, a spy, a secret agent, whatever you want to call it. You can't "not buy it" unless you're just plain ignorant.

Or you have the attention span of a gnat, since I'm referring to her being a "secret agent" not qualifying her to be your XO.

I'm surprised at all the Miranda hate; wasn't expecting it. I can be very intolerant of characters, but everything I've seen of her makes her seem like a solid teammate.

Plus, she's fizz-zine.

Ah, I apologize.

Well then, what qualifies a person to be an XO, exactly? People with far less stellar pedigrees and resumes than Miranda hold much higher positions in the REAL world.

Why do you assume that she doesn't have the right qualifications? Do you know what makes a good XO? Do you know if Miranda has those qualities?

An XO is basically an administrator. they're in charge of delegating duties to department heads. They are in charge of duty rosters.

Also, one of the most famous sci-fi first officers was Spock, who was a scientist.

Oh, I see. This isn't based on any proper logic or reasoning. You just have some kind of irrational Miranda hate going. Gotcha.

I didn't like Miranda at all, until I saw her hard shell cracked in one of the recent videos. Now, she can has hugs. ^.^

I don't like her presentation, but knowing that she won't be a stuck up, xenophobic *sshole the ENTIRE game is a relief.

Frankly I have a hard time gauging any of her qualities since the marketing has her aimed at the immature 12 year old demographic with her ******-stripping shots and all. We shall see in game.

Yes on a show where the captain probably caught more STDs than the entire third world..
