If you want to truly level the playing field I should also be required to not look around while running, wait for 25 more seconds at the beginning of the game before I can start killing enemies, and not switch between enemies as quickly as I can, always aim at the centre of the body mass after scoping in, then pull the nuzzle up and headshot.
In other words, levelling the playing field is an illusion. You either play on PC or you don't.
...or you could just do what I challenged you to do? That would be enough for me, but again, I guess its easier to take an elitist attitude and not do it at all

PC and console will never be comparable. This is coming from a console player, btw
If you only measure impressiveness by final time, sure, PC and console will never be comparable.
...but if you watch and analyze gameplay, there is an upper limit to how well you can perform under the given conditions. Yes the best PC times are always going to be better than the best console times thanks to framerate and ease of aiming. But the skills used to achieve these times are extremely comparable, and it is reflected in the similarity of play
Take a look at the gold speed runs page (yes I'm aware it's dominated by PC players) and look at how many of the top console times are within 2 minutes of the top PC times. It's quite a few, and there are a few classes where the top time is by a console
I feel like some people aren't even bothering to understand what I'm talking about, just seeing red upon realization of the topic I've brought up

Console peasant whines about pizza running, then challenges Heldarion to do a solo with unmodded objectives and no pizza running to "level the playing field" between console and PC.b00g13man wrote...

LOL people are still arguing over this? I play games on PC and Xbox. I played Mass Effect 2 on PC. I honestly would prefer a PC gaming controller. If i find that a game on PC is controller compatible ide get it for PC instead. Ide rather use a mouse and keyboard for games like the Sims or Diablo.
Whut? I don't even...
Ok.
Playing Mass Effect 2 with the mouse and keyboard was the worst gaming experience i ever had in my life. It was my first time playing a game like that with a mouse and keyboard.

I just spent an hour catching up on reading this thread.
I am not sure the amusement was worth it, but I do find it interesting that it's gone from basically one major argument to now a completely new one forming.
Heldarion, what have you wrought upon us?
You have to admit the BSN hasn't been this fun in months.

You would think I'm asking for the moon or something based on some of these responses. All I'm asking is for you to not turn the objective waves into a complete joke

Also if anyone thinks I'm taking anything away from Heldarion, you're grossly mistaken, it's obviously an epic speed run. I'm merely challenging him (or anyone else who's up to it) to do something that I would find more impressive, even though it will take more time to complete

You're saying it like I have something to prove, which I don't. If you want an answer as to how the objective waves would've gone if I played according to your challenge, you should just look at the non-objective waves in the video.

I wouldnt bother with this if i were you. The first 18 or so pages consists of this argument. No one will ever see your point and its just like running around in a circle so just let it go.

hahahahahah your words bro, not mine. You're right you have nothing to prove, I was merely requesting a talented player to perform what I believed to be a reasonable challenge. Somehow this has gifted me nothing but snarky replies
And seriously, look at non-objective waves to see how an objective wave would go? Wat?

because I asked more nicely than you are rejecting it? I am honestly amazed at the hate I'm getting, simply by asking for a PC player to speed run with random objectives! The way the game was created to be played! The entitlement of this request is just too much! I can't even get a simple "no" or a "maybe"!

Implying all the enemies between the pizza spawn location and the LZ would get slaughtered all the same.

Oh indeed. It's quite clear no one sees my point at all, as it has absolutely nothing to do with Mass Effect or video games. Right now I'm just extracting as much information out of this argument as I can before the thread gets locked

You act like this is the first ever PC speedrun. The game is nearly 2 years old, and it's been done to death. No one is going to go over old ground just for your sake.Face of Darkness wrote...
