Right, we understand you think "cheating is cheating is cheating". And clearly the game didn't intend for you to be able to chose your objectives, otherwise that'd be an option. But is modding objectives really similar to missle glitching, aside from the bare fact that it was not how the game is intended to work? Do they confer similar advantages? Do they both render skill irrelevant? Not really, as we've said ad naseum now, the result of his modding could've occured over the normal course of the game, and the only advantage it gave him was a time advantage- it didn't help him kill anything, didn't help him survive longer, etc. The difference between winning by missle glitching and winning normally absolutely dwarfs the difference between getting random objectives and getting the objectives you've modded for.  In other words, aside from the superficial fact that neither are part of the normal course of the game, the two couldn't be more different.

If you mod the objectives just to somehow obtain the solo because you can't do it otherwise then it's cheating. If someone who can solo any objectives in his sleep mod the game so he can get the fastest time possible, without wasting time and stuff on to many attempts, then it's not cheating.

Clearly Heldarion is able to easily solo the game. And it's common knowledge that four devices, targets etc consumes too much time, so modding for the fastest objectives is ok.

Impressive time by the way.

But you said it was average gameplay. You're above average. It logically follows that if you mod your coalesced like Heldarion's then you too can get sub-13 edit: or even push it further since Heldarion is only "average."

And lol at the second part, you must think everyone thinks it is a blast grinding out objectives. He knows how to handle objectives, if he got a 3 pizza run unmodded who is to say he couldn't get sub-13?

I never said he wasnt a good player. I never questioned his skill. Im only stating that modding to your own convenience is hard for me to take serious. And yes that is the only thing they have common since cheating is the main issue here, nothing else. Cheating is doing something not intended for the game. You aksed how missile glitching and 66666 builds were the same as modding objectives and i simply explained to you how they all are cheating

Because grinding the RNG requires so much skill...

@all clueles scrubs: yep his game was "cheated", to achieve minimal effect of RNG on the speed of the game, no more no less. So all of you, scrubs, who solo preset map/enemy are game abusers as well, cuz RNG should determine how skillfull is one. And forcing spawns = glitching. Abusing AI is glitching as well, not to mention RHA and RC.

Just out of several plat attempts which were well, one time I was planning to get 10WS, and every single time I've got devices on late waves. Yea, I have no skill, skillful person would have gotten Pizza/escort without any modding.

OT: I guess guys, playing GI is obsolete now, cuz Heldarion just have completed GI campaign.

No, go get sub-12 on pc with a modded coalesced since this video was only "average" gameplay. Since you're above average sub-12 should be no problem, right?

I'd rather see ppl stepping up to the plate instead of bashing a player for an amazing solo.

The irony of it all is that the devices RNG is actually a rather minimal part of a match compared to the spawn RNG. Sure you can force the initial spawn into basement (and even that works only about 75% of time), but the rest of the spawns are quite unpredictable because 6 different spawn points open up. Then the Atlases split and you cannot rocket them, or kite them together in a meaningful time.

Several times, I've got to wave 9 with a hefty advantage of 30+ seconds, then got trolled massively by spawns and there we went again... and that was when I wasn't actually trolled by spawn RNG on previous waves.

He didnt cheat so yes it would be impressive

Sorry this is just me personally but i find it hard to take cheating seriously

They are the same in that they are not how the game is intended to work. They are not the same in that the extent to which they affect the DIFFICULTY of the game, or the actual GAMEPLAY, is vastly different. So in that sense, cheating is NOT cheating, since not all cheating is created equal; some cheating can make the game so easy you can play it in your sleep (missle glitching), some cheating can make it slightly easier (66666 glitch), and some cheating can help you complete a match faster, and little else. 

But then, if different sorts of cheating affect the difficulty and gameplay to vastly different degrees, than different sorts of cheating will diminish the impressiveness or skill of a match by smaller degrees. As in this case, where his modding objectives has an absolutely negligible effect on the quality of the end result. I would imagine that most posters on this board, including the haters, couldn't get a sub-13 time even if they modded the objectives. Which is one reason why its an impressive solo, modding be damned.
