I have created an armor set and seperate module and added a custom set of armor and a weapon to my characters inventory by using the toolset and my 'other' module.
What I am now trying to do it to change it so that this can be obtained via a merchant, but I do not want to use the single player module to do this. I don't want the armor just dumped into my inventory, but rather have a merchant sell/give it to me as well as making it so that multiple copies of the armor can be purchased.
I've heard mention that this can be done in a seperate module via scripting, but I am no coder and need more details than to just use the 'getallobjects' function or something like that, as I am not familiar with that and need to see examples.
It would seem easy enough to open the merchant in the toolset and add my item, but the merchant is only available in the single player module, and I don't want to change anything there....
Could anyone point me to tutorial on how to do this? I have found how to add to merchant, but it uses the single player module. Found that it is possible to use scripts to do this, but it was not detailed enough for me. I also found a tutorial that lets you add a merchant to ur camp and have him sell unique items, but I just want to simply use the existing merchants in game, as I only have one set of armor and one weapon to give to him (for now).
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks!!

In Manage Modules, if you select your module and click Hierarchy... you should be able to enable Single Player, which allows your module to use resources from the Single Player module.
Open a local copy of the merchant you wish to override, save the file and export it without dependent resources. Navigate to the file (Documents > BioWare > Dragon Age > modules > Single Player > override > toolsetexport) and move it to your own module's directory module override (AddIns > [module name] > module > override).

Ok, problem now, is that I do not see them in Bodhan's inventory. Everything shows as loaded, but they are not there.
Does it matter how far along in the game you are, or if you've shopped at the merchant before? Is there any tricks to getting ur items to appear?

I would really help if i could.
But from reading so many tutorials and not learning anything i can say that copy anything from Singleplayer is bad because of IDs or whatever lol ha i dont know. So when you copied Bodahn i mean is a bad thing.
And what everyone is doing is using a Script to add to Bodahn. Where Script is something so umm imaterial i dont know where to kick it to make it go. So i just listen what everyone may say.

If you've already visited Bodahn and opened his stock, that's the stock the game will remember. If you load a save before Bodahn, your new items will appear.Stacycmc wrote...

It's not inherently bad; it really depends on what you're doing, and if you know how to do it correctly. There shouldn't be any issues with a simple merchant override, providing it isn't changed via other mods or patches.Eshme wrote...

Thanks Sensory, I'm sure that's the issue, as I've visited his shop many times...

as far as i know scripting an item into a merchant is only a few lines and simple enough, although i am a tad too scared of crashing my game to test it until i have some1 double check my code
