For my current playthrough, I chose one of the lines that initiated the Alistair romance with my female pc late in the game (it is not going to end well at all). Anyways soon after a few conversations with him, including a sneaky surprise kiss, I stopped talking to him as the whole situation is just getting awkward at a rapid pace. My PC is on the fence at this point since she chose the "I don't know/Maybe" options and forsees the future after completing Redcliffe/ the Urn questline.

So I decided to talk to Leliana to see if I receive any new dialogue after she entered Friendly status. Instead, she starts a conversation with this phrase and questions his "performance" among other things. Of course my pc can only respond with dialogue that describes his "performance", although she has not yet or will not discover how he "performs". I reloaded and will not talk to her for now since that conversation is out of sync with the situation.

So finally here is my question: Is this a bug or glitch in the dialogue system regarding that conversation? It is illogical as it assumes the Warden and Alistair slept together despite it not occurring. I am have not see this conversation mentioned from the archives of the BSN forums so I suspect it may be a bug of some sort.

I know it is very minor part of the game but it has my attention for now.

In the first part the convo, Leliana asks
So, you and Alistair...
If you responded: Alistair and I what?
"So How is Alistair?"
You know what I mean. Alistair and you, those long nights. He must be quite delightful, you wouldn't be this happy otherwise, I think. He's athletic, that's always nice. He is also good at following instructions, isn't he?
...then performance comes up....
so the convo is sensible

It happens once your approval is high enough with a companion, at least one that is romancable. I had Morrigan talk about sleeping together "one last time", even thought I wasn't involved with her in that playthrough.

But in that quote above Leliana assumes the Warden had sex with Alistair, which did not occur in my playthrough. Why else would Leliana say " he is also at good at following instructions" if they are not sleeping together, and then mention his performance?

Ah I see. Thank you for confirming it is not a bug. It is odd that it would trigger depending on a companion's approval rating in my opinion.

It might not be a bug, but it's likely a mis-placed conversation trigger in the script. DA:O is seriously littered with them.
If you're on PC, mods like ZDF and MRP set a lot of them correctly (as well as a number of other bugs). I'm not sure if either addresses this particualr issue though.

But I suppose you could always headcanon that Leliana's simply being presumptuous...

It happens if you are in a romance with Alistair and complete Leliana's companion quest (shifting her from warm approval to friendly). Morrigan will have a similar one at this level of approval. The conversation with Leliana is even funnier if you have both her AND Alistair in the group with you and click on her out in the world instead of camp.

Yea it is either bugged all to hell because I got the same thing on one of my wardens who hadn't yet slept with him (though the romance was triggered), or perhaps as Ferretinabun suggests, you can head canon Leliana is just presuming you have (though the implication of the conversation is that the companions have overheard Alistair and the PC together).

I am unsure if ZDF or MRP fix it. Although I have both installed, I learned not to talk to her till after I've had my warden sleep with Alistair.

I remember those mods mentioned in the past on the forums. Thanks for reminding me of these mods. I am a little weery about using mods that affect dialogue but it is certainly worth a peek.

Well Leliana is a nutcase so that would be plausible. :P

Yep, it occurred while in Denerim with Alistair in the party, so that made the conversation really awkward so I had to reload due to RP reasons. I did complete Morrigan's quest just before the trip to Denerim and have her at 85 Friendly, but she never had such a conversation with the Warden. It is rather curious that approval ratings of the non-romanced companions  trigger these conversations rather than the progression of the romances themselves.

I am unsure where this romance is heading, since my Warden is not HNF and kinda stumbled into the romance with poor choice of words in one of the conversations. I think I will head to the Brecillian Forest to get the last treaty out of the way before the Landsmeet/ Alistair's Family quest.

Yea, I had at one time done the romance, slept with Alistair, and nothing from Leliana. Then finished her quest, had the conversations with her about Marjolaine, then the next time I was looting out in the world, clicked her and it started the 'girl talk' convo about Alistair's performance. That was when I realized it was keyed to her approval status (as related to his romance flags) and didn't depend on whether you were sleeping with him or not. Perhaps it also requires he be at 'adore' at least?

It could also be perceived as since you are now actually 'friends' and not just 'warm' approvals, 'she feels comfortable enough to tease you about your relationship' which would make sense to me.

But yea, awkward if you hadn't yet done anything.

Oghren had a similar ambient banter with Alistair where he talks about the wardens getting busy, and this was RIGHT after I got him in Orzammar and was barely into the romance stages with Alistair.  So some flags are just messed up I think.

I've had Wynne ask my Warden and Zevran to "keep it down" once his Approval got past 70, romanced, even though there'd been no tent time yet.

Apparently all our Wardens like making out really loudly? XD

Is it possible to roleplay it so that the Warden and Alistair were just...keeping watch together? >.>

...now we need a machinima of this conversation with the Flying Circus "wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean, know what I mean?" routine incorporated.

"No, I mean that it's nice that's he's athletic because he's our tank!"

"Of course you do, Warden, I understand entirely, wink wink, nudge nudge!"

Nah, the Warden sleeps in the camp while the others keep watch. Those are the rules.

Ah, is that  a reference to the Fort Drakon escape during the Landsmeet?

It's a reference to the "performance" dialogue we have been discussing. She says "He's athletic, which is nice."

(The other part is a reference to this Flying Circus sketch. "Your wife, is she, eh, is she a goer? Hey? Know what I mean, know what I mean, nudge nudge?")

That is what confused me earlier. I thought the flying circus was the circus act that Sten and Oghren said they belonged to during their attempt to free the Warden in Fort Drakon. I have only seen the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie since I am an American.
