Ccan anyone point me to the female shepard trailer? I can't seem to find a trailer with a female shepard in it.

Sheploo is the poster boy of the game.  There are no official trailers with a femshep.

Yes, Mark Meer definitely sounds as if he's improved a great deal. I don't know if Hale's performance will improve or not due to the preference many people had for her voice (I don't really agree with it, but whatever). It looks as though Meer has taken whatever criticism he was given to heart, though. At least, I hope so.

ME2 will be the new standard for both actors' portrayal of Shepard, so retreading old ground (ie. ME1's voice acting) is just stoopid.

I agree. It does look like Meer has either taken the criticism(or pure bashing) and forged himself a more decent voice this time around. It may also help that the VO director has taken him in a new direction according to one of the devs.

He made "Fight for the lost" not sound completely dumb! Now that's acting.

Thane and Grunts FFTL were pretty good.

I meant that in the launch trailer, he actually SAID "fight for the lost," and it didn't sound out of place or cringe worthy. Not his fftl trailer, which was eh.

Ah lol where is the scene where the femshep is shown overacting then?

They're talking about mass effect 1. And it was impossible to not overact some of those renegade lines. xD classic.

Sounds like this thread has no basis for an argument then considering that we only have evidence of the male shepard speaking in game.

Well, the premise of the thread is that the OP thinks that the second installment has a much improved performance over the first game (from what he can infer from trailers and whatnot).

Renegade Meer was pretty decent I thought, which is something for people to consider. You are doing voice work for a character that is who the player says he is. From self righteous to self centered. Good to evil. I'd imagine that his voice work in ME2 will be better as he has now had experience

Also it is sometimes the writing, some writing is just hard to make sound good no matter who you are. How did, "Big Stupid Jellyfish" sound coming from Femshep? Or was it only a Maleshep?

But so far all the stuff I have heard is WAAAYYY better than the ME1 stuff.

Renegade Meer is definitely awesome.  After watching the video of those responses I played the game through as a renegade because it felt like I really missed out.

I must say Meers voice in ME1 works great with the paragon lines and such, his voice is calm and soothing.... something people may mistake as monotone. In my opinion monotone is Ben Stein in Ferris Buellers Day Off.... That was monotone lol....

Now I didnt really like Hales performance in ME1 as much as i thought I would have. She sounded way too butch for me, but it works for Renegade lines...

Thats my two cents and its not meant to be viewed as trolling

i thought that both voice actors were good in me1 but i think the female shepard was better than the male, there was the odd line where male shepard did sound kinda bland, and they was the odd line where female shepard tried a bit too hard...but over all both good performances

Not bad, still like Hale's renegade better, but it does sound like he has improved a lot for the sequel. Might have to play a male Shepard in ME2, will be a nice way to check out the game without the lvl 60 bonuses.

I honestly liked both Hale and Meer in ME, and it does seem like Meer's going to be better this time around.
That being said, once the entire trilogy is out, I hope Bioware release all three games together with the option of having Brian Blessed voice Shepard:
"CRY HAVOK AND LET SLIP THE DOGS OF WAR!!!"

And the Hale and Meer fans rip each other apart once again.

Judging by Hale's recent interview, I'd say the two get along very well. So why are you people fighting on behalf of them like a bunch of spoiled children? They are both good VA talents.
