Meh having almost the same problems on my laptop computer too. I was going to install on my Desktop but I read about all the Ati problems (even though the back of the box has the ATI logo lol) so I installed on my laptop that has the nvidia 200m. I guess I'll install on the desktop and see if it's any better. :(

Any response at all from EAWARE?

None, but I am nearly certain this is a problem that can be fixed with driver updates. Many new games when they are released contain problems such as these. If the game utilizes any sort of shader that the card does not recognize or the card fails to understand, or simply if the drivers fail in anyway to do what the game intended to do, you can get a range of problems - from ctds to weird polygons spring from people's heads.

There's nothing Bioware or EA can do on the matter if the issue is really what I think it is - except tell nvidia about it. Nvidia always looks at big new games though and tries to maximize the card's effectiveness in running it. Take Fallout 3 for instance, you still get in each patch they release updates to make that game run better. It's just all weird that this happens over time. Either way, I myself haven't experienced this problem again when I was playing yesterday. If it happens again I'll be sure to post. It's all very strange.

I'm lucky enough that this problem doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. For others, it's a hell of a lot more annoying. I really hope Bioware/EA looks into it, as this game is simply phenomenal.

I have an 8600GT on my laptop, and its been having similar issues. I'll get some screen flickering (fixable with a resolution change, but its annoying). Occasionally I'll get some tearing graphically. The laptop gets extremely hot (much more hot than with anything I've played), so I put a laptop cooler under it, which helps except for the flickering, which continues to happen.

I'm running the most current standard nvidia drivers (not using any of the beta drivers).

I have the same issues but they are becoming more frequent as in as first I could play 30 or 40 minutes without issues. Now I can barely play for a minute before my screen errupts in jagged pink spikes and flickering pieces of menus. I was using the Nvidia 191.07. I came to the conclusion this was a driver issue as my card is running at a steady 59 degrees even during intensive graphical scenes. I upgraded to 195.39 to no avail and turning V Sync on and off in no way fixes my problem. The game is entirely unplayable for me.

I'm glad i'm not alone. I have to say this must be a programming bug. Risen, which seems to be just as 3d hungry, works perfectly for me. Fallout 3 worked too.

What kind of graphics card are you supposed to use to get this working anyway. Nvidia causes strange graphics issues and ATI appearently isn't even detected.

My boyfriend has a Nvidia 9600 with the latest drivers and doesn't have a single problem.  Seems to be the 8600, 8800 and 9800 from what I can see.

Same issue here on an AMD X2 4400+ with 4GB RAM and a 8600GTS (191.07 driver) in Win XP SP3.

Didn´t have that kind of flickering in any game before.

Didn´t get a better shot but you get the idea.

same here - with nvidia 8600GT... on XP x64 vsync off happens every 1 -2 hr or so, new beta driver 195.39 helped a little and it supposed to have some improvements specially targeting DA! At this point I tend to believe nvidia is not to blame for the colored polygonal weirdness -- too many cards have this same issue. The blame I am afraid has to be laid at Bio's doors. Sorry about it.

I have the same problem on my GeForce 8600 GTS. Tearing constantly. I'm in the Bracilian Forest and it's getting hard to play. I disable v-sync then it works for a while. Then it crops back up. Alt-Tab'ing out fixes it briefly, then it's back.

Same problem here and I'm using a GeForce 8800 GT OC2, looks like it's a problem with the same series of cards.

I did the same, but still the problems persist. Strangely coloured textures on character models, black-flickerinf fields, crashes in Ostragar etc.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, a rollback to 180.48 worked for me (I still get minor glitches like side burns occasionally turning into giant polygons and spikes emerging from left nostrils). After many hours of play, the whole screen goes squirrelly, but exiting and restarting the game fixes it.

I had the same issues last night after reaching Ostagar and exploring the camp. Massive polygons sprouting up in specific areas as I walked around and tried to talk to people. In many cases they completely covered the entire screen so I was unable to see anything my character was doing. Backing out of the area made them disappear but as soon as I reentered that area, they reappeared.

I also noticed I was able to walk out from some of the open areas on the battlements, where the stone had crumbled, and stand in midair. That was pretty cool and I tried to take a screenshot but it didn't work for some reason. I also continued to walk forward and found myself at the bottom of the battlement. As I walked around the forested area, my character walked straight into a hill and underground! Walked around there for a while underneath the hills and stuff. That was pretty trippy but funny as well. I reloaded at that point since I couldn't find a way to get back to the camp area.

It was an amusing sojourn at 2am and after 10 beers.

8800GT not OC, was using 191.07 drivers at first. Downloaded and installed beta drivers but didn't play after that. I doubt it's overheating.

The only other issue I had was some cutscene dialog overlapping and some screen freezes while the video caught up. After it caught up, the scene played through totally fine. This happened on the initial cutscene for the warrior origin story and the interlude where Duncan introduces you to the camp.

Same problem with me, Nvidia GTX 280, everything maxed with latest drivers and the temp never get's above 60C so it's not overheating. It only happens in certain outdoor environments, the worse for me have been The Fade (It got so bad at times be game actually locked up) and the Kokari Wilds so I'm assuming it's got something to do with the lighting. People rolling for Nvidia drivers and not having a problem seem to indicate that this is a problem related with the current drivers which sucks.

So far the beta 195.39 driver is the most stable for me, but it is for x64 bit systems, not sure if its available for x32. Weirdness still happens but much rarely, and can be removed with Clt+Alt+Del and Cancel. I have not had the game crash for hours now.
