I forwarded this thread to nvidia with a mention to look at all the pages. Hopefully that'll help them with a driver fix, if needed.

So far nvidia's latest beta driver works the best for me, try it. Weirdness still happens but rarely

Good thinking Drylnn, perhaps they can make some sense out of this. It seems most of the problems come from the 8xxx and 9xxx cards. At least we can all be sure we're not alone with this issue, meaning it's probably not related to a hardware problem.

I'm just chiming in to say I'm having the same issues. 8600GTS here as well. Doesn't seem to like the card very much, does it?
No amount of fidgeting or drivers changing has seemed to work.

Tried the new Beta drivers for my 9800GTX. Game now crashes as soon as the save game has finished loading instead of at least waiting a minute or so.
I think all this is very interesting because swedish PCgamer hails the game as "having no bugs at all". How did they manage that?

I've got this same problem on my 9800 GTX. It's safe to say it's an nvidia problem, hopefully something will come out to fix this, in the meantime I'm just alt-tab'ing out of game every time it happens. Quickest method I found that works for me.

At least you have the option, I can play like a minute, then game crashes. I don't have time
to do anything fancy.
Just out of curiosity: I recently had to reinstall Windows(Vista) due to some troubles with updating to SP1
and haven't gotten around to updating it again. So, is everyone else running atleast SP1?

I find it slightly more stable now I turned off my anti aliasing, turned graphics down to medium and lowered my resolution. Still happens regularly butI can sometimes get almost an hour out of it before it buggers up. I have a 9800GT on it's way though, I will try that when it comes and if my problems are fixed I will post it here.

it was either reinstaling the driver for the card, or the patch yesterday that seemed to fix it for me.....hasnt happened yesterday or today.
*fingers crossed.

I still have it. After a few hours I start to have glitches that v-sync changing doesn't help. After a reboot I'm good for a few more hours. =)

I am getting very similar problems with my 8800 GS.

I'm also having occasional graphical tearing issues, and I worried that it was a heat issue, except I'm not having issues in any other games or in Windows:
Nvidia GTX 285
Driver 191.07
Windows Vista 32-bit, SP2
I have dual monitors, so I'm going to try disabling one of them. And if that doesn't help, I'll try out the beta drivers. I'll let you know if either helps.

I am sad to report that neither disabling my second monitor, nor installing the beta drivers resolved my issues. Fiddling with the graphics settings and disabling/closing various programs has also yielded no improvement. So more likely than not, Nvidia needs to update their drivers.

Hopefully this will help solidify the answers... almost everyone with any NVidia 8000, 9000 or M series graphics cards are having problems (this of course includes all the extras like 8800s and 9800s especially). So far (and I've been combing the forums here too) the only reliably problematic ATI card is the HD 3800 series, and those are linked to Catalyst Drivers 9.6 to 9.10.

I am experiencing similar issues on my game.
I have a 9800 GT, a dual core 1.86GHz CPU and 2G RAM (my CPU is above minimum but below recommended). I run XP
The new beta driver (195) adds support for multi core CPUs for Dragon Age. Could there be a hint as to the problem there?
I got the game yesterday and it was fine until today when I updated the patch. I now see random flashes of bright colours across the screen.
Come to think of it I did see some distortion of the graphics of my main char yesterday when I entered the first camp (is that Ostagar - before Kocari Wilds) with Duncan, but I have not seen that since.
My drivers are up to date.

It does sound like an issue with the latest drivers. I'm using the 8800GT on XP, and haven't seen anything like this. I've actually been surprised how well it runs, because NWN2 was a mess with corrupted saves. I haven't updated my video drivers since 6/09, so hopefully a small rollback in the drivers could help you guys.

Okay, I turned V-Sync off and dropped texture detail to medium (AA was defaulted off) and it seems to have cleared up the patches of colour in the main game. I am now noticing much graphical glitching during cutscenes.
I really do think the patch has worsened it.

I had this during cutscenes and gameplay. I updated my driver, turned off AA, and dropped the resolution 1 setting(was at max), and it seems to be running perfect now.

Don't want to throw a spanner in the works but I have 2x 640mb 8800gts in sli and it 's been perfect on max detail, full AA and forced AF
That was with the 190.63 drivers. Just updated to 191.07 and it's even a little better given that driver seems to have dedicated SLI support for the game.
Also this works just as well with max detail everything full on a single 8800gts with both the above drivers. so it's not a game/driver issue it's far more complicated than that and will be specific hardware and driver combinations coupled with OS types and builds that gives some users some problems.

Follow-up, disabled V-Sync, turned down AA to 2X, and updated to 195 beta drivers. No craziness like I had the other night, and minor stuttering in cutscenes (I had to think about it decide if it was actually even a stutter or just a bad animation). Played for 4 or 5 hours last night and very pleased.

I played the game for 16 hours without any of the above problems, bought and installed wardens keep 30 mins ago and now I seem to suffer from the same problem.
Been playing all this time on 1920 x 1200 resolution and all settings to max on a 9800gtx.
If it happend sooner I would also think its driver related but since I never saw this problem untill I installed wardens keep i'm not sure about it now.

In order to help diagnose problems OS info is helpful as well... I believe Zoot said elsewhere that he was running windows 7 and from what I've seen there are virtually no issues related to Windows 7 (other than some DLC issues which were present day 1)
