Near the end of the game you will encounter a very powerful sorceress/wizard that will give a potion that will solve the mage/templar conflict. You have to climb your way to the top of the highest mountain in Thedas and at the top you will drink the potion giving you the power to release a fog that spreads over all of Thedas and when inhaled, all mages and templars will have full understanding of one another ending the conflict.

Orana (from DA2) is actually the most powerful Tevinter Mage in the world (which explains why she was alive when Hawke found her) and she is using Hawke and her Companions to gather intelligence about both the Free Marches and Ferelden in hope of starting a war between Orlais and Ferelden and a Mage/Templar war in hopes of weakening all of those parties enough for the Tevinter Imperium to march over them all in the end.

She now has Sebastian under her influence via blood magic and is using him for his political and military might.

She also has Aveline in her control for obvious reasons.

She will use the lyrium lines on Fenris to eventually use him as a personal assassin and body guard.

Mage FemHawke and Merrill are already "at large" seeding distrust and chaos all over Thedas and are making it appear the Chantry is responsible. (They are willingly helping Orana as they have become very jaded after the events in DA2)

Varric is also a double agent and is currently running with Cassandra but will ultimately assassinate and betray Cassandra as well. (and before you ask, he is doing this because Orana showed him irrefutable proof that Cassandra was responsible for the death of the real "Bianca")

Anders blew up the Chantry on her guidance and instructions and has been working for her since before he met the Warden in Awakening.

In exchange for a small fleet of ships and being able to keep all loot recovered, Isabela is attacking all Orlesian vessels and making it appear they were attacked by King Alistair's navy.

I can go on but this should be enough to get you started ;-P

Sandal is actually a golem made of pure lyrium. Because of this, he is capable of things that most people are not. However, due to the overflow of power in his body, other areas have suffered, such as speech patterns and ability to comprehend his surroundings. Morrigan plans to bind the soul of the OGB to Sandal's body, creating a super-being. As a side-effect, Veil Tears have appeared all over Thedas. You must now track down Sandal and kill him in DA:I.

Edit: Something similar has been attempted previously. The result was The Harvester.

- Old Gods are actually the Elven Gods the Dalish worship.

- Qunari did not just abandon everything, get in their ship and decide to invade Thedas. They were fleeing from something.

- Fade is much like the Warhammer Warp. It is shaped by thought and feeling, with each having a manifestation. The communal belief of Orks in Warhammer did manage to create actual Ork gods in the Warp, like that, there is indeed some sort of a growing baby god(Maker?) in the Fade just because millions of worshippers have whished to him to existence by praying and dreaming for centuries.

- In the circle tower, there were remarks of party members about how the Darkspawn corruption and Demonic corruption are almost identical. Even though they are alien to each other(Avernus claims this), there might have been a connection between the two during the creation of the spawn.

- Assuming that the Dragon Age series have an intention to take turn into hardcore magic realism in the future, Dwarves, Elves and Humans may have a common ancestry, based on their physiology and ability to breed with each other.

The Architect and Corypheus along with the rest of the original Tevinter magisters who invaded the Golden City are behind the Veil Tear. They plan on bringing the world back into an era when the Old Gods roamed the land. With the Old Gods freed, Blights would end and they can control the world. Mages and Templars fight each other while the Qunari invade to take advantage of the chaos. The Inquistor teams up with the Warden and Hawke and end up creating a new age where the choose the green ending and everyone gains mage powers.

DAI will also have guns along with a convoluted, multi-verse story mechanic where there are an infinite number of Sandals all saying 'Enchantment!' in unison which, as we will discover, is how the tear in the fade came about in the first place.

The Divine calls an exhalted march on demons and enters the fade with an army of crazy holy warriors...causing the fade to burst open, slipping the battle into the real world....and only mages can save the day.

Looks like my gift of foresight was fairly accurate. Sorry for the necro.
