It was stated the dev team is now less worried about some players not seeing all content.

So we'll see if that affects romance content as well as other things.

Based on in-game character choices or player CC choices?

The primary example I can think of was Hawke having to fight both Orsino and Meredith.  Do you have any other examples of what this might be in reference to?

I'm sorry, what? That wasn't even about fans seeing all content, that was about them throwin in another boss fight for the lulz.

Right.  So even if Hawke supported the mages, players had to experience that content, even though it was nonsensical.

But it wasn't so fans can see all content

If you have a developer quote stating their reasons for insisting that a mage-supporter Hawke had to fight Orsino-Harvester, please provide the link.

Boss fights are content.

It really makes characters seem token like to just have them have a romance to be a certain sexual orientation...

You have all options available ..and the only complaint is that its to easy to get with them all?
so the solution is to just make it equally as easy to get with them and take away having all options
OR just make it impossible to romance more than one person(still think thats impossible. sleeping with anyone in da2 isnt their entire romance) and make it more difficult to romance them.

It might sound bad but I still dont have one achievement in me2 cause of the restrictions on the characters and romancing a female character with a guy really isnt motivation enough to actually go through with it.

Theres not supposed to be differences between genders anyway so any idea for a character I have usually goes into a certain class or look(or race)... and the gender usually falls into place as female just to maximize the enjoyment and I can get out of it and the motivation I can put into it..sad but true.

I'm not sure that a wiki reference to a fan blog proves anything, but it does demonstrate what I've been suggesting all along.  They wanted everyone to experience that content.

I'm all for playersexual. ME3 was fine I guess, but I would much rather prefer playersexual. I think it's the easiest way to do it and no one get left out of anything.

Whatever the case is, more than one option for each gender/orientation combo please. Being forced into a character you don't like or no romance for you isn't really the best way...

I liked how the romances were handled in DA:O better ... from an interacting-standpoint. I liked being able to pester Alistair whenever the hell I wanted for a kiss, I liked that sleeping with Zevran did not immediately lead to LET ME MOVE IN WITH YOU OR I WILL ACT LIKE YOU DUMPED ME FOREVER, I liked that I could dump Leliana when she triggered my "this chick is way too crazy for me" alarm system with her eyelashes-in-jars talk, etc.

But as for their hero-sexual natures in DA2? I preferred that for sure. Like someone said earlier, if I wasn't actively romancing, say, Fenris, I had no reason to think he was bisexual, and I thought it was pretty easy to believe that when he was making kissy face with one of my LadyHawkes, he was probably straight, and when he was making kissy face with one of my ManHawkes, he was probably bi (just because I dimly recall him flirting with Isabella a little regardless). It has absolutely no bearing on MY character's interaction with a companion if someone else is, say, romancing Merrill as a woman while I never do (I'm a straight lady, and I like to have at least one dude somewhere in the romance scene ... and if that dude happens to be me, so be it). She's straight in my games. Cool. She's bi/gay in other people's. No big.

This is partly because I know making even amounts for everyone (these ones are straight, these ones are gay, these ones are bi) is a lot more work, and I'd vastly prefer people just be able to romance the companion they like best without having to worry that oh no, the one they like best is straight/gay/whatever. It's sad enough when you get into a no-romance-at-all situation where no one can have someone! ;)

I prefer the companions having preferences in personality and values more than gender. An LI includes a story that re-frames the larger narrative a bit, and losing out on the most fitting romance story because of the very first choice in the game doesn't seem like a properly telegraphed consequence.

That doesn't mean I don't want LIs to be without preferences. I just prefer a situation where my character's values may hinder a romance (DA2 - not reaching friends or rivals lock you out) over gender (DAO - just gift spam if Morrigan disapproves).

You know, I'd like to see the LI's be a bit more preferential in terms of personality and alignment (for lack of a better word), and possibly even race, too.

But it's a bit of a por que no los dos scenario, since gender seems just as valid a thing to have preferences (or not have preferences, as it were) over. I'd say the ME3 model is the preferable one here, once you cut away the chaff - the mix of straight, homosexual, and bisexual.

Also Leliana's eyelashes comment was funny but that was pretty much the moment I nope'd out, reloaded, and went back to Morrigan's tent.

Emperor, you disagree with a DA2 design decision?

Well, I must say, it is refreshing to find there may be a spot where we have common ground. I've never seen you do it before.

P.S. we don't agree here, I'm just expressing amazement at the possibility of agreeing elsewhere.

Oh I am sure we can agree on a lot of things, but we obviously like different things from our games. I think that is a good thing. Growth is achieved through challenge and all that.

I don't know if Bioware plans to implement purely homosexual romances in the future. So far they've had hetero, bi, and player.

Mass Effect 3 introduced two such options in Traynor and Cortez, albeit lighter on content than the actual squad members. I see it likely that they'll do this again, unless they decide to bring the playersexuality thing to the new game as well.

In real life, they are the ones you want to bring home to your parents, but in games, they tend to be boring due to the style of story-telling in game which demand twists and/or drama. Kaidan seems to be that guy, but most gals abandon him in favor of the werebird, Garrus.

I can almost guarantee that they won't, at least not for m/m romances.  It's pretty much a waste of resources.  Each romance poll I see always has them in last place.  Jacob got more votes than them.  JACOB!

This is one thing that I can see BioWare sticking to regardless of the polls, but I'm likely wrong about that. That said, the idea of Jacob getting more votes than either character is a bit disheartening lol.

Yeah.....we don't need to know that.

I prefer a hybrid of the two, but limit the player sexual romance options and have a number of asexual characters.
