DAO: 1 straight male, 1 straight female, 1 bi male, 1 bi female
DA2: 2 bi males and 2 bi females

Would you want more love interests? (Even though they might not do that)

Would you want the sex scenes back?

I'd prefer a third option, which somewhat resembles DAO

2 straight, 2 bi, 2 gay characters.  One of each gender

So yeah, more LI options

I'm fine with fade to black.

THIS!

eh I prefer all options being options and I think if they did that in Mass effect 2 people would have been upset.

Fade to black thing is nice though.

What I mean is that I think he was conviently bi, because in awakening he seemed quite straight.  (or maybe that's just me).

Are you telling me his demeanor and earring didn't tip you off?

That and he kinda does flirt if the warden is a male mage. Not directly but agreeing with him on his views of freedom of mages makes him "sweeten". In my several plays I noticed he didn't had that reaction towards none-mage male wardens.

I highly doubt that

I think I might have misread this, I'm not sure anymore

Makes sense, All of them were really different from eachother and someone would be enjoying a certain character a lot and than they find out they cant have them and have to be with someone Really different if they still want to romance anyone..most of that game is about your party

And if they truly want to romance said character, then they're gonna have to deal with the fact that they will have play a different character

This is what I disliked about the romances in DA2.  I would have been much happier if Fenris and Andres were true to their ideas.  I didn't like the idea that Hawke was sooooo AWSOME that it was possible for me to get Fenris' help in fighting for the mages at the end of the game.  And the same with Anders.  The fact that he helps me fight against the Mages, was really rather boring to me.   At least Sabastion had one belief you couldn't move him from.  I like that in a character.

I would agree with restricting romance options based on some PC choices, alignments, ideologies, etc. - but not race, class, or gender.

What the character says and does in-game should be deciding factors, not what the player chose during character creation.

I know the only reason id disagree is that I cant play as a guy with out not caring. Everytime I try it I just skip anything I can skip, rushing though just for a romance I cant get into isnt to fun(My issue but still..)
also it makes me have less playthoughs.

In a perfect world, I think it'd be best to have six love interests, each with a set sexuality (one gay, one straight, and one bisexual love interest per gender). However, I (personally) really loved the "all bi" love interests from DA2, and would be 1000% fine with seeing them return for Inquisition. I didn't think it was strange or "unbelievable" at all to have four people in the same place interested in your character regardless of gender. Being bi myself probably contributes to that.

As for sex senes, I really don't care about them one way or another. I think having a scene be super explicit might be awkward (what's it called? Uncanny Valley?), but I'm fine with it in general, and I'm fine with fade to black. Whatever.

Fade to black is stupid, we are playing a videogame not reading a book, I m not here to imagine things I want to see them. Make the sex scene sexy and nice I m not asking for porn, make it just like The Witcher, I really don't know where is the problem you can see sex scenes in a lot of shows today, Spartacus, Dexter, Game of Thrones etc, I don't understand why David Gaider wants so much fade to black, it's like he so affraid of seeing a boobs or a naked body.

And no more gay relationships, or at least only one or two, no more than that. Some people said romancing Bethany would be immoral but being a gay and romancing another gay is just the same **** it's not better.

As for the love interest I think 3 for both female and male would be perfect, just like ME3 had Tali, Ashley and Liara + Miranda and Jack.

So Cassandra, Vivienne and the angry elf for males as the LI.

Picking a gender shouldnt be like picking a class or race.
Race and class actaully impact the game if the only difference in playing as a male or female is what 2 or 3 people you can romance they shouldnt even have an option for it at all(gender option).

You pick your gender when you create a character. It is just as much innate as race is.  Want to romance character X?  Write/create a character that would be able to romance them.

The Witcher isn't exactly the best example of a video game with mature sex scenes. Sure the one with Triss in the Roses of Remembrance scene was good, but most of the rest are just there to titillate. Do we really need graphic sex scenes with prostitutes, for example?

To be clear I have absolutely no problem with nudity in video games, just as I have no problem with it in film. But if it is going to be used in a scene, it shouldn't be gratuitous.

Picking a gender should be like picking a class or race, your making a choice and that choice has an impact

That impact is how people address you and the people your character is able to have a relationship with

People already say romances are optional the Gender choice only impacts that..it shouldnt be a choice in Creation if thats the only impact on the game it has.

BUT BUT BUT THEN MY SELF-INSERT--AKJHASJHD I MEAN CANON INQUISITOR CAN'T ROMANCE X OR Y CHARACTER! D:

I honestly don't get it when people have a problem with making another character to explore a romance path of a companion, simply because their first character unfortunately didn't fit into their set preferences. Whoop dee ****ing doo I need to make another character. It's not like you totally missed like 66% of the game-play because you choose to play as for example, a mage instead of a warrior/rogue.

I mean, it's a role-playing game. ROLEplaying. Not write-your-own-perfect-fantasy-story. There's something called fanfiction and books to do that.

Or you know.

In Origins on the gender option in the character creation it says stuff about both  being regarded as equals..the only thing that is really different sides some people calling you a man or woman is who is interested in you

I wouldnt have a huge issue with race or class restrictions but gender just seems pointless to me

Not every impact needs to be huge but that's the result of choosing what gender you want to play as

It wasnt in Dragon age two really and that was the only one I could stand playing as a different gender long enough to beat the game.

In Origins the only romance restictions were for gender but they did make each race a little different and that was cool, why not just do that with gender. it takes nothing away  and adds stuff to the game.

Honestly in my opinion, I feel that it cheapens the characters just to satisfy players who don't want to deal with the fact that a character they want to romance isn't interested in said gender

And it doesn't add stuff to the game

The downside is that it makes the companion characters feel a little less real. Their personalities and interests are now being issued to them by the player character rather being determined by those characters themselves.

To use an example, imagine for a moment if characters had no set opinion on the Mage-Templar conflict until the player character told them which way to lean. These characters would be pro-Mage if the player character was pro-Mage, pro-Templar if the player character is pro-Templar. Its kind of the same thing.
