Just showed my sibling the freaking awesome Gamestop launch trailer. I must say ive watched it about 4 or so times in the last little while and I cant believe how excited I am for this game. Her response was, "yea... it looks ok." UNDERSTATEMENT MUCH? Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon among friends and family? Image IPB

Frankly, monkey boy and Meer's monotone disinterested narration would make me disinterested if I didn't know he didn't have to be the main character.

Take that as you will.

well, i showed a few people the clip, and they thought it was the trailer for a new movie coming out, rather than just a video game, so i think its pretty impressive none the less.

Well, the people who I have told think that I'm obsessed or didn't even realize that I play games. I actually even had a friend laugh when she was telling me about a dorky ME2 trailer she saw the other day...

You really dislike Meer don't you, this is two topics I've seen you posting about how inadequate of a voice actor he is in the past 4 minutes :police:

I was at a game store where a customer and attendant were discussing the original Mass Effect. The attendant said it was 'OK'. I died a little inside.

The FemShep fans are really coming out of the woodwork. It seems like there's an "oh yeah? Well Mark Meer sucks!" in every thread today, regardless of topic.

They feel that their opinion=fact, and make sure to let you know.

Its just my opinion but I don't think that I would like listening to a male actor with as much emotional range as Hale. I mean really, how many men are emotional when they speak?

outsider unappreciation for our obsession is why many of us gamers retreat to private sanctuarys during these holy times of pre-release exitement. yuor friend speaks BLASPHEMY and must be avoided until such time as this holiest of weeks come to an end and we can be released once more into the real world.

of course by then you'll have ME2, and the real world will be even less appealing.:D

Hey guess what guys, it's what happens when you realise one voice actor has been put on a pedestal undeservedly, and the other been swept under a rug due to what I can only call sexist marketing policies.

I wouldn't criticise Meer half as much were Hale given even 10% of the limelight.

Hey, sparky. Every once in a while, an accusation is correct.
Whether it's sexist because BioWare marketing are a pack of misogynists, or more likely because they think the only market they need to appeal to are adolescent boys who want tough guys, big guns and boobies doesn't change that in the end 100% marketing based on the male lead and zero based on the female is in fact sexist.

I don't even think those are the real voice actors in the game for that scene.

bioware is really beginning to push gaming to the next level - or rather we're seeing the fruit of those labors. they shoved it a bit in me1 (wow there's a sex scene? wow shepard chokes up a bit when the normandy gets lock down? what you have to sacrifice your own people?). However in me2 the gloves are off, the shotgun is in hand, and bioware is blasting apart old stereotypes.
