i reckon Zevran and Tamlen would get along quite well... but in that competitive two alpha-male kind of way. both are proud of their abilities, and would stop at little to prove they each were the better at whatever they were doing... be it fighting, killing, seducing the Warden...

Lol. Well, I want them both to compete for her. O-o

I didn't think Tamlen was seductive, more of the sweet. "You know I'd do anything for you."

indeed. and compete.... not force her to choose right away. Alistair is so willing to let you choose against him... Tamlen would never just "let" you choose against him. he'd try to win you over constantly. but not through begging... through demonstrated affection and devotion - all without ever being a sap...

Okay, now you women are hitting my soft spot! I'm a man, damn it!

But yes... Tamlen is what you girls would consider... *sigh*... "sweet". I think I can catch his persoanllity well. I'll post chapter one tomorrow, and perhaps recommend it to you two if you'd like.

thats being seductive... its an innocent, devoted approach, but its still seduction.

i'd ultimately envision a scene where he says, "look, you either love me, or you don't. i won't force you to choose, but if you don't love me, this can't continue." or something to that effect.

I don't know if I could not choose Tamlen, the guilt alone for leaving him in the ruins. :(

Tamlen was the one likable character from the Dalish Origin. I felt bad being forced to give up on him.

This thread surprises me. Tamlen made no impression at all on me, except that he was kind of a dumb ass about the mirror.

It's interesting how perspectives differ.

lol... its this same sort of guilt that makes it hard to not like Alistair. to ensuring that companions like Wynne like me. and also that i tend to go "good" even if i start out intending to be bad... and that usually gets unhinged as soon as i meet Cailan... i find it seriously difficult to be rude to him... he's just so eminently likable.

Sorry for the confusion, Devil, I suppose your avatar gave me that illusion. I like a good story, too.

And Tamlen > Alistair > Zevran.

Tamlen is my favorite character. O-o

Competition? Why? If you're going for a Dalish gal's choice, why not build herself a male harem? Pick both!

Yeah. Whenever I try being evil, I always end up good. The NPCs just make you feel SO bad when you do anything wrong.

That's why the polyamory mod WINS. :D

np TGW... i actually just changed my Avatar today... from a male toon... i just thought i'd show off one of my hot elven she-Wardens.

Tamlen is certainly the best character in the Dalish origin... Merrill gives me the major irrits... i swear, i wanted to push her through the mirror myself. and the story-teller... who's name escapes me atm... him too... (not that my Dalish would have, ever done such a thing, having lost the man she loved to the Mirror only days before)

however, the rest of them... they're family... how can we not like them... even those i disliked have their redeeming features (Merrill is only the way she is coz she's young and in a position of unexpected authority, and the Story-teller is only annoyed with you coz he cares so very much about you and Tamlen).

lol Wynne would totally be in for that... you've heard her banter with Alistair about seeking "company" from the other Mages...(side note:  i reckon her Son is Cullen, and his father is either Gregoir or most likely - Irving or Uldred... but given to the chantry and raised with no knowledge of his parental origins)

Paivel I believe his name was, and yes, that was one of the biggest disapointments of the game for me. That the Dalish never sees their clan again except for Ashalle at the end. :crying:

i suppose since Ashalle was for all intents your Foster mother, at the very least you get to see her again. i think it would have been only fitting to go back to your own clan, since all the other origins besides the Human Noble go back to exactly where they originate from... albiet for the City Elf not until the end-game is about to begin.

Funny thing about the Dalish..

When your Dalish Warden is leaving, Merril and the Keeper show the greatest amount of emotion, and the Warden even tries to cheer up or comfort Merril. I've always been suspicious as to the exact nature of the relationship between them, then. Was she a playmate with you and Tamlen, as children, then had to become studious, serious and all that, after becoming the Keeper's First? Did she have some sort of "thing" (crush/feelings/sisterly bond) for the Main Character?

hmmm now that you mention it treason, your right... there is something more to Merrill. i suspect, as you put it, she'd been one of your childhood companions, until her Talent surfaced and she was taken as the Keeper's apprentice. i get a definite sisterly feeling if my Dalish is female, and a bit of an unrequited crush if male.

Tamlen was an idiot and he ruined my life. If I had found him in the ruins I would have taken his head off, he clearly never used it anyway.
