I know Im a bit of a history geek, but is anyone else interested in having info in the next ME about the races before they achieved spaceflight? What life was like for them and such??

That sounds uninteresting. What's the point of making a space epic in space if none of the species are capable of extended space flight? It'd also be a drag to play as an Asari prior to space flight and then jump 3000 years or whatever to the Turians before they had space flight in the game. What are you accomplishing?
The purpose of the game isn't to go on anthropological tour of the cosmos. You have the Codex and BBC Earth or the Science Channel for that. The purpose of the game is to tell a story in the galaxy.

That's a good idea, and not dissimilar to what they did in ME1, ME2, and DA:O.
But looking at how they butchered the Codex and the Journal in ME3, and the general lack of quality displayed there in the more "extraneous" material, I doubt we're going to get anything substantive.

What MassivelyEffective0730 said.
Bioware Codex writers are untrustworthy to write something like that.

I liked the setup of the codex and journal in 3, however they gave only information we already knew. The only real info we know pre-space flight is human history and that the Krogan somehow nuked themselves. I'd like some of that older history fleshed out, it feels like I would have a good time reading the histories.

We also know a little bit about primative Asari culture from Samara's dialogue about Ardat-Yakshi, but you're right in that there is a lot unanswered about what a lot of the species were like pre-space flight.Ultim Asari wrote...

Some of the dialogue that is added from From Ashes also gives some insight about a lot of pre-space species.
I'm neither here nor there as far as caring, it'd be a nice from a lore perspective to flush out the history of the species, but at the same time I wouldn't want writing time for the next game taken away for it.

I don't just want Codex.
I wouldn't mind even outright gameplay explorations of what they were like back then.

Im a sucker for ME lore so i i aprove of this, the codex, planetary descriptions, Cerberus News etc. Are a huge part of what makes the MEU feel vast and interesting.
I would love for Bioware to implement a system where certain codex entries are unlocked as a reward from during sidequests, scanning or exploration. Maybe even implement "minigames" like in ME1and 2 but instead of always giving credits/loot the reward would be different sets of collectibles, and for each set finished, new codex entries would unlock or existing once would expand.

I'd say not only history, but geography, religious evolution, countries, borders, trades, inventions, disasters and so on. Or in other words everything that can remove the hats of the different races.

I'd like some extensive info/background history on all the races as well. Would be really awesome.
