The ending may overshadow ME3's other issues, but the journey was by no means great
Then you must not have played the same ME trilogy I did but the journey was one of the greatest journey's ever in entertainment period.

The ending of ME 3 is perhaps ten minutes give or take. The trilogy in total consists of well over 100 hours of content. So yes the journey trumps the destination.
But there was a lot on the way that was just bad

Incorrect. ME 2 introduted a huge cast of amazing new characters. Arguably some of the best DLC bioware has ever done, revised the combat mechanics of the series, has some of the best character development not just in bioware game but video games in general and flushed out what ME 1 previously introduced to the series.

Mass Effect 1 isnt that good a game, and mass effect 3 is pretty much a mass effect 1 quality story with new graphics.
Mass effect 2 is the best of the series and thats only cause they learned the characters were more important then the lame plot.

It was also the plot bridge to nowhere. I still love the game dearly but it is basically a glorified spin-off in the overall sense of things.

A ridiculous arguement. I won't get into detail and bring up Aristotle's pyramid, but the bottom line is, the climax and falling action of a story (commonly called the "ending") is arguably (and it is very easy to argue) the most important segment of any given tale.
Now since video games are a ****** poor story telling medium, the swill that is Mass Effect 3 could very well be considered a masterpiece of the medium, but to argue that having a larger supply of "good" content than "bad" content makes a series "good" in totality simply based on some majority scale is fundementally unreliable as a means of evaluating a story's quality.
But yeah, opinions. ME3 a sh!t. ME2 best girl.

ME was the series, guy. ME is what started it all, sequels should build upon the prequels, not try to reboot them.and flushed out what ME 1 previously introduced to the series.

Just like it is with comic books, you have to suspend your disbelief to enjoy Mass Effect, lol.
