Actually, Atlases have a head.

Well, the cockpit area is obviously a weakness that receives extra damage like a headshot.  But I don't know if the Arc Pistol gets the modifier bonus against an Atlas.

Would like to know if it does or not because I usually pull out my HurrDurrcane when I see one so I never really tried to see for myself.

The exhaust port on the back is credited as a headshot.

No, I'm referring to this.

You should be exploiting triple hits against Atlases anyway.

Firstly shut up.

I live in an apartment with grass areas outside.
I'm on the sixth floor. When i'm at work i leave the balcony door open so they can go as they please whilst i'm away.

I use bleach to wash down, but You do get the odd poop that sticks to the floor and is tricky to get off.
I use a gardening trowel. Its great for picking the poop up and also scrapping.
Get that or something similar that You can just leave on the balcony for when You need it.

With drill/ap and constant explosions it still does pretty well. its not as effective as the venom for nooks though.

Seriously. You guys are putting so much effort into replacing the venom.

You can't get headshot medals with a Venom:whistle:

Like that matters.

I don't think anyone disagrees with Venom being a supreme mook killer, but personally I find killing a Phantom much more rewarding when it's a result of my skill with a weapon instead of the weapon just trivializing them. Sure, some weapons make it easier than others, but the fact is that weapons like Arc Pistol actually require you to be able to hit them.

EDIT: Oh, and I don't agree with Muhkida about Arc Pistol "trivializing" Cerberus mooks... Maybe it's just semantics, but while Arc Pistol's certainly devastating against mooks, hitting moving targets in the head with an accurate weapon is never exactly trivial - regardless of whether you find it easy or difficult.

It should be worth mentioning that when I use the Arc Pistol on my QFE for example, I usually equip Drill/AP rounds and a Geth Scanner.

...and by usually, I mean always:innocent:

I hate to say it, but constant abuse of using the Geth Scanner has probably spoiled my gameplay.  I just feel completely naked without it.

even if homing grenades work or not, you can still kill phantom either way.

The game hasn't been out for 3 years, and I'd love you to point out where I made a reference to your gender.

I'll wait for your apology...

Lies!!!! Boogieman you blatantly said HE in an earlier post which was obviously an attack instead of an abbreviation for human engineer. Apology denied!!!

Falcon with incendiary or disruptor ammo and a mix of overloads and incinerates will make short work of them and keep them at range as well. For overload, go chain, neural, shields.

Against Cerberus, you don't need weapon dps except against atlases, but feel free to bring a hurricaine along too.

Shuriken and Predator are not to be forgotten in Gold or Plat. They are extremely light, and with the right mods and ammo they can dish out massive damage in very little time. The Shuriken with a stabilizer can be a headshot machine in the right hands. ... snip

ftfy.  ;o)

Every other gun in their weight class is superior.  They are usable and fit nicely into their role as "My First Weapon", but they have no place in a discussion about optimal tactics.

Human engineer is a fun class, with good damage against all types of defenses. However, every time i play against cerb, a phantom/dragoon rush can just overwhelm so fast. Combat drone doesn't do much, if i'm lucky any of them might target it and make it pop, but often they just charge around it and stab my face. Overload can stun a dragoon half the time, the other half they just run through it like nothing, and while it can rip a barrier right off a phantom if they don't palm block it, it doesn't really make them pause at all. Incinerate also can trigger the palm barrier, or a dragoon dodge, but also can be unreliable. Is there a particular build/weapon combo that maintains high DPS and high cooldown, but can also CC a dragoon/phantom rush? I've tried so many different versions.

Dragoons get staggered by Overload and as far as Phantoms are concerned, you just need to strip their shields and make them go to cover.

Here's how I dealt with them, even if the basement camping strategy is very specific and Wraith is pretty much the perfect gun for all the casters.

The other options is Falcon + Incendiary/Disruptor ammo which makes it so that you stagger all the units rushing you while also priming them (with something like a second of delay) for detonation with Incinerate/Overload, but Falcon is terrible against bosses, so you'll have to trust somebody else to deal with them efficiently.

Similar guns would include Scorpion (best fired at ground, but does not apply ammo effects in this case - only upon direct contact) and Krysae. There is also Talon, which is just good, period.

If you feel like a baws, there's always Claymoar B)

Here's what I do:  I fire Incinerate at one of the Dragoons and shoot the other one while backing up.  Then, when my recharge is up, I Overload the first Dragoon to cause a fire explosion that will hopefully kill both Dragoons, or at least kill one and stagger the other so I can shoot him.  This works about 50% of the time.  The other 50%, the Overload hits the Dragoon and does nothing, and the fire explosion fails to detonate.  Next, I die.

Drop a Combat Drone that can stun, fire gun and powers, do FEs and TBs, and displace.  Rinse and repeat.

Play to your kit's strengths, not to theirs.

This thread doesn't have nearly enough Falcon, Venom or Scorpion. No HE should be without one of those guns at all times, IMO
