I get tons of Juggernauts in my games. Tons of different players. And they all do the same exact thing, they just stand there like idiots holding heavy melee. Is it really that difficult to figure out that if you walk backwards you can shoot the enemies while not taking any damage? Especially against Banshees. Banshees will constantly do their melee slash which stops you from being able to fire your gun.Just walk backwards while shooting them. When I play the Juggernaut I spend 75% of the match walking backwards. But I never see anybody else doing it.

Because I walk backwards I hardly ever have to use heavy melee. I mostly use heavy melee to make a Nemesis stay put, not to recharge my shields. Those annoying bastards won't stand still.

I'm sick & tired of seeing Juggernauts walk up to a Banshee & immediately start heavy meleeing then get dropped a few seconds later. They attract all the enemies to one place & then the rest of us have to run into the swarm to revive them & risk getting grabbed. STUPID! Just plain stupid!

I use that as my heavy gunner style. I usually pack either he spitfire or the typhoon and first advance then start to retreat laying down the proverbial lead. I also pack one of June bigger shotguns to toss off a few rounds when I am forced to melee.

This and using turret/shield for defence

PUGs are PUGs. Heavy melee should be used defensively on the juggy, just to repair the shields.

That's how I play the juggernaut, always shooting and walking backwards, only using heavy melee on rare occassions.

Sounds like you've been unlucky with people Jugging who don't know what they are doing. Juggy is easy to play badly & still seen by some as a license to play Gold when they are not ready.

That said I melee a lot but alternated with Siege Pulse while backing up. So long as you don't get caught in a crossfire with other enemies the replenished shields makes sure you very rarely go down and help you hold the attention of Banshees etc.

As for attracting enemies, that's kind of Juggys job. If he isn't making sure every Banshee & Brute is attacking him not the squad then the player isn't doing it right. If you can't do that without going down all the time you should be playing another character. My opinion only, obviously.

What really annoys me is the number of Juggys who have one of the best offensive powers in the game (Siege Pulse) & hardly ever use it because they get sucked in by the damage protection boost. I regularly see Juggys get killed trying to tickle a boss to death with a GPR while they have a full salvo of SP on their shoulder that they would never think to fire. That's just dumb!

I do like the speed boost from heavy melee. Otherwise, I do anything but melee if I can.

lol. Do you play on bronze? Because I see lots and lots of juggies on gold that wreck face in a wide variety of ways. They are all "PUGs".

By the way, constant comments in this forum on how bad "PUGs" are, are getting stale. It is just a lame method of making yourself feel more important.

I should also add that heavy melee is useful even if used exclusively. Shoot the agro conventionally or dispose of it with a rocket. A win/win situation.

Yeah, we all play bronze around here. If you play anything else you are just an elitist jerk.

I think I melee more with the Fury than Juggs. No need to walk bacwards, everything runs away when sou flash that Claymore to their face.
And banshees can be just circeled around and they will mostly miss both with their claws and their warps.

Most Juggs I run into do exactly what you said, they trudge toward the enemy, throw down a Hex Shield, and stand there holding melee for 10 minutes. It's nice if you can flank the enemy and shoot them in the back, but it's also frustrating a lot b/c more often they're @ a choke point and every enemy locks on them so it just becomes a giant circle jerk when you get surrounded. Apparently "retreat + shoot" is too difficult a concept.

Edit: And before the rest of you elitists ;) ask, I play Gold.

I had a advice offered to me by one of the players in the lobby when he saw my loadout - reegar - I equipped SG amp III, and the advice was "you should replace the SG apm with strenght enhancer cause you're gonna be meleeing everything.

I just chuckled and said I won't be meleeing that much.

It's sad that people have reduced the Jugg to a statue and think that's a perfectly legit way to play him. #hedeservesbetter

My kind of player. Forwards, Backwards, sideways, anyways. Who cares? Having a juggie in the team is like fighting in the Mako, if you know what I mean.

The M35 Mako is your IFV, mobile turret, emergency cover, and all-round best friend when exploring hostile areas, plus it has plenty of assets to exploit.

Yeah, SP for defense only, zero points in passive, Disciple as carrier of omniblade. Meleeing, shielding and turreting everything. Speedrun is a lie.

in some situations, the backwards walking and firing is necessary, but on gold (and even plat), it takes a lot to overwhelm the jugg. When I play w/ my friends, I use the jugg more as a damage and aggro sponge to keep pyros, dragoons, and phantoms off my more fragile asari teammates while they pound away with reegars and grenades. and I still almost never go down. In that situation, it is often necessary to heavy melee grind with the occasional turret and shield. Its not always fun, but it works.

OP, you sound like 14yr boy. did't your mother teach you manners before making such forum post?
being respectful and civil is important in any forum.

anyway..
I play Juggy often in Platinum only to just help support my team and be on offense when my team is in trouble. I play the role of Tank/Brute combo which is best defense/offense combo a team needs.

Yeah I love playing with chicken juggernaughts, watch as the rest of the team gets slaughter while ploddingly walking backwards. (Joking......only partially)

The juggy was BioWares biggest class mistake because they didn't have time to do some balance changes after it came out. I would guess that it is even more popular now than the last bio stats update that showed it as the most played kit.

You are also more likely to run into melee spammers on plat than any other difficulty...u a scrub.

One does not walk backwards with a Reegar.
