If we get to kill all the mages, then I'll be happy :)

But that's not evil. That's doing the right thing.

Well... IMO, DA evil character should be one that does something with PURPOSE. Like the protagonist in Death Note. He doesn't kill or hurt someone because "Hey, it's fun to see someone die!", but because "Sorry, you're in my way".

Although I would never be heartless enough to do something like the OP example (I can't even kill the Dog in Origins), that's the kind of thing that the evil personality should be.

Of course, if you want to actually kill every last mage out there, you'll have to have an ongoing purge, since magic doesn't show up right away. People keep having kids, and it's a moving target.

Actually, you could kill all mages. You'd just have to kill every elf, human, darkspawn, and qunari.

Totally worth it.

Evil, even on a single person's view can be really shoddy. Evil really depends on the scale.

The other day I was thinking about trying to be "evil" in DA2 by letting the demon have Feynriel, letting Danarius have Fenris AND giving Isabela to the Qunari.

BUT I decided before I made those choices I would go to youtube and see the outcome just for plot reasons and I first came across the Isabela scene and within like five seconds I was crying my eyes out and had to close it before I really lost it. I was shaking after just watching her initial reaction.

I think between playing the games so many times and writing two 200 page fan fiction novellas..part of me feels like I know these characters and seeing Isabela so scared and upset just pushed me over the edge.

Its just not in me to be "evil" with these characters or IRL and I guess with some of the things that have happened to me in real life, I don't think I would want to know someone who would actually make these evil choices even in something completely fictional as a video game.

I have always said there is so much evil in the real world why would anyone want to add to it, even fictionally? Why?

We don't call it "evil" unless it's a D&D game. We call it "immoral". And morality changes from culture to culture, society to society.
And yes, I want more of those options, definitely.

It's not genocide, it's correcting the Maker's mistake.

Yeah me too. I first attempted to see what happens if you give Fenris to Danarius, I moused over the decision and stare at it for like 5 minutes and couldn't do it then I went to youtube and almost cried. The funny thing is I hate Fenris's guts. Giving Isabela to the qunari WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF THE QUESTION. I could never do it, my bestie, who never judges anyone.

I once tried to leave Redcliffe to be destroyed, I was so upset I've been unable to keep playing that character, and he didn't even harm anyone all he did was leave :-\\ Also, when one of my wardens killed Connor I was angry at him and couldn't keep playing that character for a few months although he did it because he thought it was the right thing to do... I think what bothered be the most may be the way he answered to Alistair about it later in camp. It's rare for fiction to affect me so much, even with Game if Thrones' red wedding I was like "should've seen it comming, don't bring your mother and pregnant wife to the fortress of an enemy with a grudge, they didn't even bring bodywards".

So trying to play a "evil" character is out of the question for me, not only it doesn't make sense (to me every character must do what thinks is best, even if I disagree), I would be uncapable to do so. Of course that means options someone may consider evil but might be considered the right choice by someone are always welcome, just no evil for the sake of being evil.

Edit: I have never even considered the possibility of giving Fenris to the Magister or Isabela to the Qunari

What about Andraste's mistake? The chantry and the Templars? I tend to fix that mistake, that twisted horrible mistake. My hawke even promised Anders and Justice to do it. I shall do everything in my power to hold that promise

I would totally offer you a key for admission to the Templar Coffee house Templar person, but they don't want to give me one.
