It's always nice getting to wave 3 without using consumables (except 1 missile). The game giving me this device twice in a row must be some kind bad joke I'm not getting.

I wouldn't know anything about that. I didn't get devices in either of my attempts last night but still managed to fail.

When you're exporting your video, select "YouTube" instead of "Recommended for this project", you can see how it looks in some of my videos. It'll bring the file size down to 34MB/minute instead of whatever hundred WMM recommends.

I seem to recall trying that before and being prompted to create a Windows Live account. At which point I said, "Nah" and tried the other way. But I'll give that a try again, maybe something's changed

That's what I do, and it's never prompted me to sign in or sign up. Weird.

Thanks for the screenshot! I had been pressing the little YouTube button in the upper right-hand toolbar area. Never noticed the YouTube option in the save area, so will try that next time.

That little YouTube button tries to upload it directly from the program iirc, which is why it was asking you to sign up for Windows Live.

I have absolutely no idea because I'm a total video n00b. So, probably some horrific thing that's not compressed at all.

I take whatever Elgato captured and dump it into Windows Live Movie Maker (LOL) to trim the beginning and end where all the extra lobby crap footage is, then "save project as recommended" since that's what YouTube says to do, and then I let the beast upload while I sleep.

Elgato came with editing software that worked well enough and seemed to have faster uploads, but was also very bad about deciding not to upload the video AT ALL half the time, and then I'd have to repeat the entire process in Movie Maker anyway, so I pretty much have written off the Elgato software. It's really only convenient for grabbing screenshots, which is easy and makes a pretty good quality image.

I don't know enough about video editing to purchase software, nor do I intend to purchase any when I can just go the long route and upload overnight anyway. But yeah, it was kinda LOL that a bunch of people did their challenges, put up screenshots, and had video links ready allllll in between my initial screenshot.... and then my video actually becoming available. lulz

Change the visual settings to "fit the screen" & "16:9". It should get rid of the black boarders. Also I recommend using Sony Vegas pro. It's what I use to edit and render my videos. It's very easy to use.

Doesn't even have to be a solo. A duo or trio is bad enough, too.

Got that bastard for the very first device on Wave 3 doing Geth/Jade/Plat with dida and xain. It go so ridiculous at one point that I raged all 6 of my missiles covering dida. Not even joking.

Screw that device. Jos Hendricks, you are a cruel person for programming that!
