Think Bioware might be good enough sports to have a couple of lines about say, how ugly elves are in some of the free marches, not a lot of dwarven women like Kirkwall it seems, or how some cities have more than the same exact warehouse in every district

Maybe a few of those jokes but not too many. It kind of takes me out of the world when I hear that. Like the CSI reference in MotA, for example. It's a little funny the first time but it does get old. I'd rather they reference the problems with DA2 by fixing them in DA:I.

There are some digs at DAO in DA2 (mainly about how brown Ferelden is) so I expect a line or two. Maybe someone can tell Varric that he's really bad at describing caves and warehouses and fancy houses and makes them all sound the same ...

Agreed, but I can also picture her snarking right back.

Cass: "Not now Varric.  It was boring enough the first time."

Varric: "I could tell you about the houses in Hightown again."

Cass: "Ugh.  Please don't."

Speaking of DA2 jokey things...I wonder what kind of nickname Cass is going to end up with?

Okay, I'm with you here.  I've got the mods for Bethany, Isabela's and Merrill's hands because they looked...creepy. I didn't use the Anders one since it conflicted with the modded look to his robes.

Since DA2 was a bit of a bad joke itself, I think they've exhausted patience on this kind of thing.

The forced lines about Swooping Still Being Bad from Alastair were cringeworthy.

Wasn't that funny in the first place, was very very old, and just reminded me that BW are ****s for fan service.

I'd be keen for some of that. Especially if it can be fitted into the 'framed narrative with the unreliable narrator'. We really only saw two examples of that in DA2, the initial pre-CC super -Champion bit and the sequence in Bartrands house. I think the idea of Varric being unable to accurately describe locations is quite funny.

I can't see 'ugly elves' getting mentioned, though.

He did call Isabela Rivaini and Anders Blondie the entire game.  It's not as if they're all gold lol Hell he was afraid to give Aveline one and she never tried to castrate him lol

I do hope the trend continues though. I suspect him, Iron Bull and Sera are going to be riots.

I wonder if he'll hate anyone this time.

He wasn't afraid to give Aveline a nickname, not by the time she started asking. He just couldn't come up with anything other than "Red," which she dismissed as too common.

I can't see ugly elves being mentioned either. I can, however, see jokes also towards the NPC's lack of reaction to a Mage Hawke:

"No sh*t, there I was with Hawke. Bandits were everywhere and even seemed to come from the sky! Hawke began casting spells left and right, the fireballs just flying from her/his fingertips. And yet, the Templars never seemed to notice. I think they'd been snorting too much lyrium, if you ask me."

I wouldn't mind the odd line from Varric here and there as long as it's not overdone, it does seem like the kind of thing he'd come out with, IMO.

They could make one about Darktown. If you g there at night, you will notice that it is allways daytime there anyway. So the only place in Kirkwall where it is never dark....is called Darktown.

I only played DA2 1 1/2 times so any references made about DA2 might not register with me. I would prefer if DAI made zero references to the past.
