I've been doing a renegade runthrough of the trilogy, I'm on 3(obivously). I HAVE NEVER done anything to reward me paragon points. So naturally I expected my paragon bar to be at the bottom. I got a lot of general rep rewards but I figured those would be small and insignificant. I was dead wrong. Not only is my paragon bar not at the bottom, it sticks out just a bit over the top of my renegade bar. This has screwed my renegade ME3 playthrough. How many people think General reputation rewards are a problem? I can't be the only one this has happened to. Anyone have a similar experience to mine?

With the way ME3's reputation checks work compared with the other two games, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Additionally, as long as it's not a huge portion your Ren-scars should still show up in full bloom.

Can't say having the smallest sliver wouldn't bug me just a little though...

Some stealth paragon points are inevitable I suppose. As long as your renegade points exceed your paragon you will be treated as a renegade.

Reputation points are important because you need them combined with your total renegade/paragon points for a couple of dialogue persuasion checks.

Wait, I thought the general reputation points just scaled up the bar and kept the ratio of Paragon/Renegade the same. Is this not how it works?

TBF I've had a long gap between my Paragon and Renegade playthough but I haven't really noticed anyone treat me that differently except in response to a renegade dialogue option.

It's just weird, my renegade bar is halfway to the top and the paragon bar sticks over the top of it just a bit. I'm too far in to restart, or maybe I will later I don't know. I just wish they kept things the same as in ME1.

I played full renegade through the series, in me3 I decided with this playthrough to not do all the fetch missions. My reputation score was pretty low but my renegade score was very high.

A paragon/renegade persuade was grayed out so I used gibbed save editor to raise my reputation points, then back in the game I was able to select the option.
I have played me3 through a lot. The differences are mostly responses to Shepards paragon and renegade dialogue wheel choices.
However and there is probably only one of this instance in the game. Shepard will respond differently to a question that she asked depending on whether she is a renegade or paragon. I would have preferred the response to be a chosen one though.

The system sucks because regardless of your alignment you get both the para/rene dialogue options if you just do enough side missions. :/ The only thing it changes is your scarring which can be fixed in ME2 or 3 anyways.

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding your problem, but it seems to be you are misreading the bar in Mass Effect 3. Paragon starts at the top and works down and Renegade starts at the bottom and works up, for I have a very small amount of Renegade in my Mass Effect game and its at the bottom. Other posters are correct too in Mass Effect 2 there are a couple of places where you get both Paragon and Renegade.

Edit:

I forgot to mention is unlike Mass Effect 1 in Mass Effect 3 its showing a percentage bar, so its based on all of your choices being equal and how many are Renegade versus how many Paragon.

Indeed, you are miss-reading the bar: paragon is stacked on top of renegade, so your paragon is not slightly more than your renegad, but that "difference" you think you see is actually all your paragon. See the bar on the right side of the wiki page:

http://masseffect.wi...wiki/Reputation

Your total reputation is the sum of the 2, which is the total height of the bar.
