I would not think so. I get Morrigan in DA:I Not as a companion mind you but shes there. If that's meant to be fan service that panders to people like me, then so be it. If people wish to swoon over Cullen then why stop them?

For the record I pay to see the reaction here on the BSN if we meet Cullen with a newly wedded wife. The reaction would be worth the money.

I wonder if Thedas wedding vow has the "'til death do us part".

There was also a man that looked like him in one concept art. The one with Inquisitor stabbing the map and lots of people around. Some people say it's Cullen and some say the man looks nothing like him

Moreover, Greg Ellis leaked on twitter that he voiced for Cullen. It got taken down pretty quickly though. Gameinformer also hinted that a certain "fan favorite knight captain" returning. He's definitely returning.

He is alive (in all scenarios af far as I know), was in both games and even has a character arc. So why not?

Fan service or no, he still is a citizen of Thedas.

You guys are funny  For me, it's not so much about whether I'm attracted to the character... but if my PC is attracted to him/her. I'm a huge Cullen fangirl, but personally yeah I'd choose the Grey Warden. He's a smexy beast, and he looks all strong and capable and sh!t *shiver* But Cullen is an awesome character (in terms of potential and continuing character growth) AND yes he's a fine looking set of pixels. He will go excellently with my inquisitor *rubs hands together devilishly* What can I say, I love gorgeous, well-written characters... lucky for me, that pretty much applies to everything the DA writing team spits out xD

Ever since the speculations started over the new companion artwork, I keep reading posters that are assuming he's going to be in Inquisition as a companion.  I will retain my doubts until it is confirmed, but I'll agree that is likely.

"Cullen is just fan service," is the cry I keep hearing.  Why?  What's the reasoning behind calling Cullen a fan service character?

Anyhow, that's my question.  I never saw him as fan service and while I didn't mind the character, he wasn't one of my favorites.  Is anyone willing to take a polite shot at this? 

Well, if he was included solely due to the wants of fans, that'd make him a fan service character no?

To me Cullen is boring/plain. I hope he is not a companion as it would be a totally wasted slot for me. He is like plain, white-toast, you can eat it and it will keep you from starving but you really yearn for something tastier.

Hey, it worked for getting Tali as a LI in Mass Effect 2 & 3. I honestly don't even remember Cullen in either game, that's how much he stood out to me, but if people love him, more power to them. I'll support their right to voice their desire for some hot Cullen luvin' in DA:I.
