Ahhh ok. Thanks.

Buy more eh? Does that cost real money?

Just buy one of the 4$ Cartel Coin packages; this should change your account status to "preferred" and up your characters from 2 to 6 if I'm not mistaken.*
And if you ever need more than that you easily buy them, either from the Cartel Market (they are 600 coins IIRC) or from the GTN (in game auction house) with credits.

Fun fact: Buying a character slot doesn't just give you an extra character on that server - it upgrades your character slots on every server.

* Can someone verify this? I think it's correct, but I never actually tried it

Has anyone run into this problem? I go to fire my weapon at an enemy, and nothing happens. Like they're frozen or something. Could that be lag? That's happened to me a few tiems already
PS- smugglers are awesome

Sounds like lag alright. Especially if everything moves really fast a few moments later or you find yourself teleporting back a few steps.

No. Think of the most grinding and boring of MMOs. Now combine that with pointless quests... Now add a bit of cinematics and Mass Effect dialogue. And finnaly a monthly or f2p, saturated with micro-transactions, subscription. There you go.

Edit: Now that I think about it, 95% of all MMOs fit that criteria.

I noticed a tiny red x? Is there any way to fix that? The server I'm on for my smuggler only had like 20ish people and my SI had over 100.....

Try lowered FX settings. I found this link for tips; seems reasonable:

No. I am rather twitchless, and found myself unable to get past some end game materials. But I did play for quite a while; experienced all of the class origins and had three 55 lvl characters. And I died so frequently that the Med Droids knew me by name, and the Med shuttles were my taxi service.

Personally, I enjoyed the game, ran solo, and hope that some of the things seen in TOR will spill over to other Bioware games. The Companion Approval system was better than most other systems I have experienced, enjoyed being able to escape out of dialogues to choose what I believed was the best response for my character, and actually liked the older Space Missions; one of the factors in using a subscription over F2P.

Enjoy!

Look for a possible default reset, and begin again. Note that the Advanced Tweaks are not recommended until after Basic settings have been tested.

Also take a look in the Support area of the Forums; lots of useful info, and the team was quite helpful to me during my stay. From them:

How can I improve the graphics performance on my computer?

With Patch 1.1.5 and Game Update 1.2, new graphics options were introduced to improve performance for players who are playing on computers that are at or near our minimum  specifications. If you received a pop-up notification when you logged into the game, it means that your system was detected as one that could possibly benefit from these new graphics options.

The options you may like to change for increased performance are:

[*]Set Shader Complexity to Very Low

[*]Set Shadow Quality to Off

[*]Uncheck the box beside Bloom

[*]Set Character Atlasing to Low

[*]Set Visible Character Limit to Low[/list]Once you have altered these options click apply to save your changes and then assess your performance in-game.

Yup I did all of that, then I hit something that made my screen black and kinda glitchy, so I sadly can't see what I need to do to undo all the damage. I don't want to uninstall the entire game, but I don't think I have a choice :(

EDIT

Yup had to uninstall. Bye bye my SI and Smuggler.  I don't mind, since it's free, but it just takes sooooo long to DL

Your characters should be saved on the Servers.

Wow! You're really great with all your help! Can I interest you in playing TOR again? LOL

Have no idea why, but it's DLing super fast. Already at 40%. Last time it took hours.

Find a good guild on your server. You can check the SWTOR Boards to see who is available.

Ok :)

Finally hit Lv. 10 on my SI. How come I don't get to pick one of my special classes?

Have to get to the fleet and do the mission to find the advance trainer. Once you do that then you can pick your specialization.

You will meet an Advanced Instructor when you are able to leave Origin planets. These are often seen for the first time on the Fleet stations.

Ahhh. I doubt I'll have to worry about that. I'm only a Lv. 4 Consular LOL.How do you chat with random people LOL?

I'm still learning how to kill training droids

Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the Imperial Agent and Sith Inqusitior playthroughs.

I find the story stuff shines with 1-3 friends (i.e. people that you'll routinely play with).  A few of my in person friends and I played and I found it a lot of fun to share the stories and to play dice during the multiplayer conversations :)

Nah, it doesn't - you most likely looked at the number in the corner of your screen, or in the social window.
That's actually the number of people who are on the same "instance" as you, for your Smuggler there were probably 3 or more instances (copies) of Ord Mantell running - you just happened to be in one that hadn't quite filled up yet, while your SI was in one that's near the cap/limit for people per instance.
The entire server has tens of thousands of players spread out across the various instances of the SWTOR verse. :P
If you ran into all of them at once your computer would probably die on the spot (anyone's computer that is).
So don't worry about population too much, and especially not about the number you saw.

Yup my two toons were saaaaaaaaaved! My SI finally hit Kaas and is Lv. 11. So happy didn't lose that file! My poor smuggler is only on Ord tho'

Running into more lag. Have no idea if it's just the server or my computer. My connection is pretty good, I guess. Ahhhh that'd make sense so my "area" only has like 50 people when there's actually like 10,000 running around?

I love TOR! I just really want my ship LOL I neeeed it!

So happy that being a sith isn't all herp derp EVVVVIL this time around. I'm actually more a neutral-gonna be light sided....although I DID indulge and force shock a few times when I could

If you would like to see the population on each server, its on the log-in It doesn't show the number but it will say if the population is low, standard or high. There are thousands running around on different planets with all different instances.

As soon as you get through the class quest on Kaas you'll leave with your ship.

For the SI, I would recommend working on Khem's friendship. Just cos its part of the main mission and its funny.

My SI is evil. Actually three of my four imps are evil. Hmmm. Anyway. I found it more fun to play evil than light side.

Yep! It's a big galaxy, and they are out there! Every server is home to a lot of people.
The Light/Dark side options are well done, and every class gets some really good options that are very fitting for what they are - there's plenty of Dark side choices that have a reason to it instead of just being petty cruelty; usually self gain or because it's "for the greater good".
And getting to zap people is very much part of the fun of being an Inquisitor! ^_^
