YES! Finally! My PC finally gets some respect!

How does that pvp mode work? I hit the terminal to let me try entering a skirmish and it says I'm not qued for anything.....

There's a button on the left side of your mini-map.
Well, several actually - one of them is PvP warzones, the other is the Groupfinder (for running Flashpoints) and another one for Galactic Starfighter.
The terminals just give the missions.
And yeah, after Korriban I can imagine any SI will be happy to get some respect!

Try using the Support feature, and search using latency as your key word; tips are available.

Once I got a new computer that could handle the processor requirements I really enjoyed the game. Then I hooked up with a wonderful guild, who educated me about MMOs and specs, Ops and rotations, and I am still playing the game. Have to play one of everything to get the story!

Yep; alteration to equipment could even be done w/o a workbench: Control + Right Click, though a cost is often attached for keeping the older modifications.

Ah, I have some fond memories of ToR. It was an excellent experience. I haven't played it for a long time, but I had a lot of fun with it. My favorite character was my LS Imp Agent sniper. It was fun playing a "good-ish" character in the middle of the Sith Empire.

I can't believe the game is 3 years old already. Are there still updates? My last SW MMO was Galaxies, and we know how that crashed.....

SWTOR is updated almost weekly; large updates coming in reasonable periods. And 3 yrs does seem to have past very quickly, as this game among a few others helped me rehab somewhat after my stroke during 2011. In that regard, the game also recorded an award for helping those with disabilities

There's a big one about to hit next tuesday.
They are trying to stick to a schedule of releasing a large update every 8 weeks, with smaller patches in between to fix bugs and stuff.
They've also added the reccuring Rakghoul virus outbreak event about two weeks ago, and you'll be getting the bounty hunter event soon, which is a monthly returning event (the Rakghouls will be as well I think).

Also when you hit 50 you have dailies to make credits and gain achievements. If you find a good guild they will help you level and gear.

If you are on Twitter look up SWTOR family. Its a great network to be part of.

The class stories are certainly worth one's time, but once that's over, it becomes stale.

Yea, lack of story-based content is kinda tiring

Hopefully they'll realize it's worth investing in more story content as it seems to be one of the most common reasons for losing players.
They did tweet about recording new stuff though, so here's to hoping it leads to something good in the near future.

I just recently started replaying my jedi knight that I never finished. While it is fun in the beginning, it really starts to stagnate after the first two worlds. It's also hard to keep track of what I'm doing because I spend more time grinding through side quests to level up my character than I do playing through the story. Oh yeah, leveling up is such a pain in this game. Especially if you don't have other people to play with.

I did not have to grind for anything; simply skipped most Heroics, Flashpoints, etc, and played a few at higher lvls for the storylines. Of course, these were not Jedi Knights, but ranged characters. Perhaps the melee types do not lvl as quickly, though I doubt this is the case.

I suspect you were playing as a sub, while he's playing it F2P.

True, but I also played solo. And I used gear that was found as loot, rewards, or was available in open shops; not purchased from the Trade Market.

What I liked about the game is that one could play the entire storyline from Start to Finish solo; no grinding required.
