Dr. Bryson is then killed by his assistant. His assistant aims at Shepard as Shepard charges towards the him....
So what if you don't press the Paragon action that makes Shepard throw his/her datapad at Bryson's assistant? I've been scared to not press it, but I want to know what happens if you don't...
What if you don't press that Paragon action?

You just kick his ass in a more direct manner. Forgot the exact animation.. Kind of a body slam/takedown, and punch when he's on the floor or something. The interrupt is kind of pointless imo. They accomplish the same thing.. but Paragon just involves... throwing a datapad. I don't know. I think this isn't a good use of the interrupt feature.

LOL! Datapad throw is overpowered! I guess I will not throw it anymore...

Sort of like how you'll kill Kai Leng with a different animation if you ignore the renegade interrupt on Cronos Station.

Sometimes interrupts are (functionally; not talking about narratively) there just to see if you're paying enough attention to try to be more Paragon or Renegade and little more. (do they give morality points? I forget)

Both Bryson's assistant and Kai Leng should kill Shepard without the interrupt.
And after the Reapers' harvest you should see the cutscene with Liara's time capsules stating "We lost because Shepard was too slow to react. Hopefully the next cycle has a protagonist who can do QTEs".

I don't think we should go down that route.
The biggest annoyance of QTEs themselves are their sudden appearences in cutscenes that we're trying to process the story of, yet get a game over when our reflexes aren't continuously ready.
