Because they are two different games, two different companies, and reach was boring.

All Halo games seems to be the same imo. They are all ok for one playthrough but nothing special.

The core of the Halo games is the arena MP not the campaign.

Anyways on topic, no thanks. There is nothing to be done there that we don't already know.

The biggest problem with the First Contact War will be no human biotics so you lose half the classes.

Did you know that if you rearrange the letters in "prequel" you can spell "vomit sundae?"

If you rearrange the letters in "post-ME3 game" you can spell "excellent fun-time pre-order adventure?"

It's the truth.

To anyone saying Reach was a great game, what is wrong with you?!

That was the most disappointing Halo game to date.

one of the only decent moments in the game, along with the third segment (AA gun activation) of "Exodus".

The game was lacking of epic battles (this was the biggest battle in the lore, yet what do we get to do when a mission starts with a massive warthog/scorpion/falcon/pelican charge? wander off from the battle and blow up some AA guns, yay!), and the characters themselves were pretty bland.

The entire games plot didnt even feel there until the second last mission, where you finally felt like you had a real purpose other than doing "regular marine stuff"

Surely with the news of two new Species for the next game, any prequel involving the current cycle is now written off? Whilst I'd agree that a game on established lore would be good, it wouldn't suit the RPG format of the Mass Effect series since the events are already established. What I would like to see is a Space Fighter adaption of previous conflicts, like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

No thanks. An interesting period of time that would make for a rather uninteresting game, IMO.

Is that officially official?  Or rumored official?

Rumoredofficialbutreallylegitandlikelyhappening.

I'm very sure that the next game will move forward the timeline in some way. It's the amount it does, and the manner it happens as, that it up to question to me.

For example, an 'alternate universe' of a sort may still happen. We'll see. :wizard:

God I hope not. A prequel would not be optimal. Introducing the multiverse into ME would be optimal.
