Oh, and it overrides Biotic explosions.
2/3 of the major problems fit under "Don't hate the game, hate the player", but it's still seriously annoying.

mostly by standing directly behind a teammate and spamming flamer, thus blinding the player in front of you.
there are those who'd debate it's ease of use/high damage output as "easy mode" as well.
I've been using it myself more, tbh. trying to give it a chance.

Because 99% of Flamer users will use you as a meatshield when they hit the button, meaning you won't be able to see chit regardless of what you do. Also, the activation/deactivation SFX always play at max volume regardless of how far away you are from them.

If a PuG is good enough to actually be at the spawn at the same time, they usually know how to use Flamer. If they're not... then I generally won't see much flame action, since they'll be lagging behind.
I typically ignore the silly anti-flamer comments and do my thing. If a flamer user is proving to be a problem... I move slightly. Then it's not a problem. Seems easy enough.

-Stand at angles so not to interfere with other's view
-Don't Flamer someone as they're getting up because they can't see where to go when they do get up
-Do Flamer Banshee's when a teammate is being picked up... they'll thank you.
There's more but just use common sense and you'll be fine.

If I see a flamer frying a group or a choke point, I won't stand beside him and shoot blindly, but rather flank or cover his six while the fire's burning. I also do the same if I am the flamer guy. Ofc some situations can't be avoided, like certain hacks, ambushes...

Said that, I often find flamer players annoying, as most of them have the bad habit of keeping flamer active for its entire duration regardless of the situation, leading to a lot of deaths in the middle of large open maps (hydra, condor, london...)

Totally with you on this. Can't remember the last time I got annoyed by a flamer user.

It´s also very trendy here on BSN since bad-mouthing EDI has gotten old.
Although I never had any problems with flamer users, outside of one instance where I had three flamers to shoot through with sniper rifle. But that was still fun

Right, I get it's vision-impairing and the sfx are annoying. I did not know it overrides biotic explosions, but then I usually run a Fury when there are biotics in the lobby with me, I tend to run Geth Trooper when it's 2 soldiers and an Infiltrator or something like that, where I feel like there won't be a lot of armor-shredding powers being thrown around.

Forgive me, I'm still somewhat new to the ME3 party, but....why do people hate on EDI? AIU is a legit character...or is that why they hate on her, b/c it's a legit play?

Because she and TGI are an official EZ mode. High damage output with ridiculous survivability... seems legit.
Both allow poor players to play higher difficulties and make an illusion that they are gold-plat viable players.
Even worse, both kits consume grenades at ridiculous speed, I'm so happy when my clusternades, that can be turned into a massive AOE damage, are eated by some scrub so he can stay in the open and be shot.
