So this is good to know, I didn't realize the primer got the credit for the explosion, I thought the 2nd character to cast got the points, so that's all news to me. But again, effin a, the experience is SHARED lol so....who cares? BSN and their epeens man....

This isn't the point. Singularity is also a "point stealer" (or call it what you want), so both HAs will get their score significantly boosted if there are any bio detonators in their lobby. Some kits will just benefit more than others from certain things, Thats just they way it is.
Point is that Flamer/SF overwrites Biotics, so if you're in a biotic squad stomping Reapers on Glacier and a flamer joins the game, he's pretty much going to screw everyone over.
Flamer/SF kits are easy and rewarding kits to use, which is fine, but this also mean they are heavily overrepresented in lobbys.

Yeah, I get it's absolutely annoying to have your biotic explosion chances undone. I only play the GT when there are no biotics in the lobby; if there are, I run Fury b/c biosplosions > no biosplosions. As for a lot of people running the GT, I never see it. Never. I see Juggs and GI's all the time, but never GT's. Must be luck of my draw I guess.

I have seen a thread before where a guy loaded into a game in-prog and kept dying b/c the other 3 players were all Infiltrators so he was continually being targeted by the enemy...Never happened to me, but I guess it could lolz.

I will agree Flamer is a borderline OP/probably OP ability, but the Geth Trooper is neither a tank nor a Wolverine-calibre healer. If you run Fortification and Hunter Mode fully spec'd you end up w/ 350 health and 900 shields when both Fort and HM are active. Hardly tanky on Gold/Plat, you're instantly shield-gated by any of the bosses.

Had this happen and I had a match with all infiltrators spamming TC and guys were all camping in the same spot.

No, but it wouldn't hurt if he did the devices.

BSN is a broken record

And since it take no skill to use, everyone who uses a GT always score exactly the same, because there is zero player skill required.

But wait! When i'm in a PUG lobby with my GT, and someone else is in the same lobby with a GT, how come I will outscore them significantly the vast majority of the time? Wow, that's odd .. I mean, there's no skill involved, as many BSN posters claim ...

BTW, did you know fitness is overrated? And the GI is an auto win card? And only total noobs would ever use the TGI? And N7 and CP indicate skill?

As far as the flamer overriding biotic primers .. they are still on the target, it's just your first detonation will be an FE . follow that up with the detonating power again, and viola, a BE will happen ... so now you get 2 explosions ...

A no HM build will give you 1400 shields with a %40 damage reduction .. making it the most tanky kit in the game which can dodge

First game today, got dropped in wave 6 with a TSol (fair enough), and the ol'trusty Jugg and Vorcha Flamer, imagine my surprise............
It's pretty much the same every lobby, and it's not as much of a problem as it is boring. Some variety would be nice.
I suspect that a lot of peolple swearing by these kits have never been in an all biotic squad and don't realise the damage potential of biotics. Nothing beats a game where BEs are going of every 2 seconds.

Edit: BOOM BOOM:wizard:

Your link doesn't work .. although I have included my build for him, I think this is probably what you are looking for.

And the credit for this build goes to Caneghis (?spelled right?) .. he produced a Platinum video of this kit a year ago

Because 99% of Flamer users will use you as a meatshield when they hit the button, meaning you won't be able to see chit regardless of what you do. Also, the activation/deactivation SFX always play at max volume regardless of how far away you are from them.

Oh, and it overrides Biotic explosions.

2/3 of the major problems fit under "Don't hate the game, hate the player", but it's still seriously annoying.

You can also engineer some truly insane shield recharge times.  Put him in a biotic sphere for even more lulz.

To the original question:  I don't like the power much either.  Mostly for the graphical reasons other people mentioned.  Idiot players following me around and spamming it.

That said, I once played as a QFI in a PUG with three Flamer users (GT, GT, VSent).  The rate at which armor was melting was truly astounding, thanks to the tech vulnerability debuff.

Not speccing fully into HM whenever possible was punishable by death in the empire.

If you can't deal with the squishiness, equip a cyclonic and enjoy being almost as tanky as a proguard.

I've always thought it blasphemous as well but...Shampoo and Max.....they might be on to something. It would feel weird to have to equip the Geth Scanner on a Geth Trooper class though . *enters Twilight Zone :alien:*

It's not blasphemous, it's just plain out wrong, efficiency-wise. Shampoo didn't advice to go without HM, he merely showed how ridiculous the shield recharge times can be on him. Max has, apparently, been misled by good ol' Cainnnighis. Hard to find someone worse to take advice from.

Anyway, it's just a matter of math really... You can easily verify it yourself. Unless you need full fitness, no HM *and* a cyclonic to survive. Then the fault's yours, not of the character :P

5 in fortification and 3 in fitness is mathematically better, though. But they're very similar, yeah.

Yeah sorry, forgot about that. Only sensible reason to ever spec out of that power...
